Wondering if others want to share some of their expierences as I get ready for a 30 hour trip with fiancee and 3 animals, not excited about this but has to be done.

Not 100% sure how we are going to do this but hoping to get to Las Vegas no later than noon Wednesday and maybe as early as late Tuesday nite.

Have no idea how the animals will handle this. Man, this is making me sick just thinking about it.

yes we have a place rented.

Having most of our stuff shipped out tomorrow. We were going to fly but there is heat restrictions with animals and in Vegas it is too hot. So we are driving out there, should be fun:smoking:

you will be fine, as long as you are not hauling all your stuff.....

stop every few hours, freshen up, dont rush, there is no rush to get there I imagine.

Drove to Denver, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta with some buddies on separate trips obviously I did most of the driving since it was my car. Good luck with the drive and the move to Vegas.

For sure.

Debating on staying the nite and getting a decent amount of sleep each nite or doing the stop only to stretch, eat and fuel up. Probably going with the stay the nite idea.

Yeah, Have a Friend there and he called a couple of weeks ago to tell me it was 115. BUT DRY
I was like Dry ?? Trying turning the Oven on and stick your head in there. :missingte

Did Las Vegas to Chicago moving a friend back with 2 cats last year.

As much as it's tempting to push yourself, it's better to get the rest.
When I'm driving somewhere, normally I'm a only stop for gas traveler.
You'll feel much better with the rest. I was surprised at how good I felt.

My trip from Long Island to Pompano Beach was about 1200 miles
22 hours. Only stopped for Gas & Food ( of course Pit stop at Each )

Sirius Satellite Radio should make the trip smoother.

Driven from the Virginia coast to Vegas twice, and from Vegas back once. My last time the car broke down in New Mexico and I was stuck there for 5 days. Make sure you've gotten a thorough car checkup before you leave.

Take your time and enjoy the sights. I did it alone so having a companion will keep you from going crazy. A few books on tape and some CDs may help as well to pass the time. Don't get a ticket either, I'd research the speed traps on the way. Be prepared for long stretches of lack of scenery.
