My predictions for each game follows.........and i have the Hawkeyes favored in ONLY four games, with two listed as toss-ups, so looking at a projected record of 4-6-2(of course ties will not occur).

Thus, my forecast of the 2008 Hawkeyes is a record of 6-6, meaning at this time, if the Hawkeyes were to squeak out 7 wins or more and reach a bowl game, would consider it much more than I expected and a very, very modest accomplishment considering their personal on hand.

The season win total has opened at 7.5.........UNDER would appear to be the play.

STRENGTHS--Entire offensive line is back(back they were not good last year), strong recieving core, solid defensive line led by all-american King, great fans.

WEAKNESS--Average QB at best, no experience at the RB position, weak secondary, and a coach on the hotseat that will recieve tremendous pressure to finish better than 7-5.

Pittsburgh has been pegged by some experts to win the BIG EAST title this year.

I agree on the under on this one. If the total is still at 7.5, there is no way this team wins 8 games.

They will probably win 1 game they aren't supposed and lose 1 game they shouldn't.

Kirk Ferentz is the most overrated coach in America.

Don't agree. WVU, depending on their D and how quickly the new guys step up will be the winner of the Big East. There offense is going to even better with Devine instead of Slaton.

I have not took the time to analyze the Big East for this year, just going by what many so called experts are predicting, and that is PITT winning the conference title. This alone should make them a certain favorite at home vs. the Hawkeyes.

The BIG EAST does appear to be another wide open affair this year with the likes of WVU, PITT, USF, LOUISVILLE, etc., etc.

Well Fish, I have to agree with you on your prediction for the Hawkeyes.

It could be a long season for the guys in black and gold.

I think they may surprise a few teams if the new Junior College running back shows something. Guillory is supposed to be the real deal.

Have you heard anything about Shonn Greene playing?

Agree on your predictions and would even say Northwestern is a toss-up. They will be improved and not sure the Hawks offense can keep up.

Hawkeyes win more than 7.5.

I will tell you why.

#1. Oline is not as young/has time to gel together.

#2.Moeaki is going to return he is one of the better TE's in the big10.

#3. Trey Stross and Brodell are competent WR infact Brodell is fast as hell.

#4. Shonn Greene is going to be playing this year.

Don't forget this piss ant team knocked off ILLINOIS last year, they make teams play to their level, they also almost beat Wisconsin at home.

Yes, they got a gift penalty call that help them beat Illinois. They may have beaten the Illini, but they got smoked by IU at home and lost to WMU at home.

Kirk Ferentz hasn't done shit since 2002. He missed managed the game against LSU and got lucky in the end.

This team is not winning 8 games. They got lucky and don't play OSU, also 3 of their 4 toughest games are at home.

I don't see them sweeping Purdue, PSU, and Wisky.

They will lose at MSU, Pitt.

With that schedule if they don't win 8 or 9 games, they should fire the coach, AD, president, and cheerleaders. No Michigan or Ohio St on schedule. Yeah, some of the other teams may be improved but as bad as they were, they better be. The play here is the over, as painful as that is for me to say.

Speed doesn't mean anything if you don't have some who can get you the ball- See Jake C.

Also, what has greene even done. He barely did anything in '05 and '06.

You act like IU beating Iowa is a new thing, they routinely beat Iowa's ass. James Hardy smote Iowa alot, he is no longer around. Iowa didn't do well against scramblers which is what IU,ILLINOIS, AND WMU brought to the table.

Greene has been working out non stop, he looks like an absolute freak compared to then. Hard to throw the ball when your OLINE blows. See David Carr for details.

It's hard for me to believe that Pitt should be favored to win anything under Wannstadt..I'll take WV and USF over them just for coaching..And it wouldn't surprise me if Cincy and Rutgers also finished ahead of them this year.

Everyone is Adrian Peterson in spring ball. Also, Hiller isn't a runner, he is mobile and can avoid a sack, but that is not why they got beat.

I thought of you every time Dallas Clark made a catch in the HOF game.

Iowa could easily win 9 games this year. This is probably the 4th best team in the Big 10. I'll be on the over 7.
