After all the big trades have been made, and the season comes down the home stretch who do you see winning it all come October?

I would have said Boston a week ago, but trading such a presence as Manny I just don't see it likely anymore. Their lineup isn't as strong as it was in recent years and their bullpen is to shaky.
I'm sure they will somehow find a way to blow it, but as of today I see the Cubs winning it all. Bringing Harden in only bolstered a strong starting rotation that will feature Zambrano, Harden, Dempster, and Lilly come playoff time. They did a nice job in adding another arm in the pen with Gaudin, and Marmol looks like he is getting back on track the past week or so. They have a lineup that can matchup favorably with the AL teams, and many of their big bats aren't hitting with as much power as expected. Pinella is manager that bring toughness to the team that I think will finally get the job done this year.

the Cubs bats will dissapear in the playoffs just like last year. This is essentially the same lineup they played with last October, Fuckudome is no real difference maker and has regressed as the season has gone along...

Watch out for Phils or Marlins if either make it. Phillies have the best lineup and a crazy closer but I never count out the marlins those lucky bastards

im not sure if they can win it all, but arizona would be my choice to come out of the national league. their 1/2 is as good as anyone's in baseball and top to bottom they are better than the cubs. if philly had any decent pitching they would be a strong candidate as well. alas, their only hope is to play cleveland indians circa 1996 style baseball on teams.

Tampa Bay, LAA, Cubs, Red Sox and Dodgers are the only teams I take seriously when talking about the World Series.

Originally I thought it would be LAD/LAA in the World Series, but I'm going with LAD vs TB. Chicago/Boston is also a likely matchup.

I don't care what the regular season #'s say, when the post-season starts give me a healthy Josh Beckett vs anybody.

Angels are built for regular season with great depth and hustle. But who is gonna win a big game for them in the playoffs (Saunders, Lackey, Santana, Weaver, Garland)? And Shields and Arredonado not ready for prime time

I like the Brewers and the Rays. They both have great front-line starters, and neither team is getting enough respect.

Ummmmm. There are 8 playoff spots. You just named 5 teams for the World Series. Pick a team!

Definitely think the Angels are built for the regular-season. Very good pitching, but they don't have a playoff stud (Pedro, Clemens, Beckett, Schilling). I guess Lackey counts.

That being said, I think they've got the best shot. Their offense was mediocre at the All-Star break. But lately they've been scoring runs.

True, LAA has Lackey and Garland.

However, you wouldn't consider them in the recent class of playoff aces. Clemens, Beckett, Pedro, Randy Johnson, Schilling, Pettitte.

I'd put Lackey on the edge of that group.

As for their other guys. Saunders, Santana, Weaver. Who knows how they'll fare in the playoffs.

And what other middle relief in the entire MLB is 'ready for primetime'?
