Thanks Wil...great memories...in this photo, looks like Johnny Briggs, Allen, Cookie Rojas, and Johnny Callison...

I do remember him getting in a fight with Frank Thomas..

Connie Mack Stadium will always be my favorite park...caught my first foul ball there off the bat of Don Money..the next day my idiot brother was playing sandlot baseball with it...

By Saam was the announcer during those days...

Spent many a night listening to the west coast games on my transistor radio with the ear phone..

1964 was quite a year...I have always said that Gene Mauch ruined my childhood, but the memories of going to Connie Mack Staduim is something I will always cherish...

There were many great moments in the 64 season. One of the most memorable was Jim Bunning's FATHERS DAY "perfect game" against the Mets. On June 21st Bunning entered the record books and also became one of the few pitchers to toss no-hitters in both the American and National Leagues. Phillies fans can remember where they were when Bunning tossed this gem. It had been 42 years since a perfect game had been pitched in the major leagues; eighty four years in the National League. Bunning went on to win 19 games in the 64 season, totalling 89 wins in his two tours with the Phils. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996. He is currently serving in the U.S. Senate as a Republican represenative from Kentucky.

I was at a cook out when Bunning threw his perfect game against the Mutts...Bunning and Short, Bunning and Short....what a jackass Gene Mauch was, and later in life Mauch was responsible for the Angel player who killed himself, the name escapes me for the moment...

Robin Roberts was the man! Great pitcher and all class when helping other younger pitchers...

I think you are talking about Donnie Moore who gave up that HR to Dave Henderson in the 1986 ALCS.
