Yes he has pitched well but either he doesn't win b/c he gets no run support or his bullpen blows it up for him. Today he has been good until the mid innings where he gave up 5 runs and now he will AGAIN get a no decision.
I know Rich Harden is considered one of the better pitchers in baseball if healthy. I was on the Under 7 so that bet was long dead already. Thinking Harden would keep Astros to 1 run or 2 max and Cubbies hopefully scoring 5 Max.
But the thing i don't understand is why does Rich Harden gets these high lines. I mean he was -280 against the Marlins a few Saturdays ago and lost 3-2. Today he was -260 ... yes Berkman was not in the lineup.
But if you looked at all his games, none were easy wins. One thing i noticed about Rich Harden is this guy always gets a high pitch count. Against the Marlins, i think he only pitched 5 innings and i was like damn. He is a very good bet for 1st 5 innings but this guy does not last long. I ended up saying, damn i laid -280 on the Cubbies bullpen? Even when he was in Oakland, this guy keeps leaving the game before the 7th inning. He usually leaves in the 6th or middle of the 7th inning due to high pitch count.
I do not get why a guy like Harden is always this big of a favorite when he doesn't even last that long. So many high pitch counts and he is out. Jake Peavy is another example of a guy that does not deserve no -200 in any game. I mean he is good at Petco but his team is horrible at hitting and scoring. Look what happened against the Giants when they were -220 at home with a pathetic offense.
I believe Harden is -200 plus pitcher but ONLY 1st 5 innings. This guy just can't last like ROY HALLADAY. Now thats a guy that will give you 8 innings and possibly a CG a good majority of the time even though his team can't hit.
