Funny, at my golf league tonight, I spoke to a guy who went to high school with him and he said he was a pompous arrogant ass.

Then I get home and see what McCarthy said tonight.......and I just laughed. Talk about ego. WOW.....McCarthy decideds Favre doenst have the right mind set to play for him. I guess McCarthy is a psychologist now....LOL........I'm sure ole #4 is just as stubborn though. Rogers is going to struggle this year and McCarthy and Thompson will lose their jobs because of it.

He's just towing the company line which makes him a kiss ass.

In all fairness to Packers mgt the guy did retire and Rogers has been waiting in the wings for long enough.

Steve Young did the same thing sitting an watching Joe Montana for years and Joe didn't want to let go but Steve needed to play.

I disagree. Mike McCarthy is doing what he thinks is best for the team and gives the Packers the best chance of winning.

Ask yourself this, if McCarthy thought Favre still had the skills why wouldn't he make him the starter? IMO, it was the other 52 members of that roster that guided Green Bay to the 13-3 record.

Big difference with Young and Rodgers. Everyone knew Young could play just from his USFL time. Rodgers is unproven

Have you ever given thought to maybe he's being told what to do by managment? We all know Favre is better than Rodgers and gives them a better chance to win so why do they want to move on without him as their QB?

Favre better than Rodgers?

You could be right but before last year Favre was the 25th ranked QB and the year before that 31st. Now all of a sudden Favre has found the fountain of youth and carry over last years success? Last time I checked, NFL rosters consist of 53 players..does anyone think Favre was solely responsible for the 13-3 record.

I pray Favre stays and starts for the Packers so I can shove this thread down Legend-Idiot throat because I know he is going to stink. The most over rated primadonna ever...he displayed that quite well in the playoffs last year.

Nailed it. Finally someone who isn't on Favre's ****. If you know football, you knew the defense is the strongest thing about Green Bay. Kampman is the best player on that team. That team played above their head all year, but it wasn't because of Favre. EVERYONE stepped up. Jennings was huge, Grant was a MASSIVE reason they did so well, and the defense was better than the offense. Hell, even Mason Crosby, the kicker, had what will be his best career season.

This team will be worse this year, and it sucks knowing that because you know everyone here and in the media will be quick to say it is because Favre isn't there when really it's because they just had a great year of football that they can't match last year.

They're the Colorado Rockies of the football world.

Personally I can't believe how many fuckin jock sniffers there are out there for Favre. Gimmie a fuckin break. I applaud Mike McCarthy for telling Favre that the team turned the page. and rightfully fucking so!

I pray the Tampa Bay deal goes through and he starts so you can really see how WASHED UP he is cause he can't make heads or tails of Grudens offense.

You fucking people are seriously living a pipe dream.

And yes. Grant and the Packers defense carried that team last year. If you still don't believe it YOU FLATOUT DON'T KNOW FOOTBALL.

oh yea and one more thing, goes to show how valuable he is to the team when only the FANS (not his teammates) wanted him back.

Roger is soooo good and they have so much faith in him they used a second round pick to get a QB.

Rogers has played 2 games in 3 years and has been injured twice already missing significant time...

Can't see anyone thinking for any reason Rogers give the Packers a better chance then Farve.

Green Bay had a great year last year due to many players stepped it up and had career years. Packers are still a good team as their defense is solid. They won't go 13-3, but they should be fine. I doubt Farve will have great success in Tampa Bay and they won't be much better with Farve then with Garcia.

It'd called a backup plan. If you're going to try and knock a guy at least get his name right. Rodgers, not Rogers, and there are actual Green Bay fans I know that go to the Training Camp and practices that have said he is better than Favre. All he needs is experience because right now he has better tools than Favre.

BTW genius. The Packers were last in rushing before Grant became the starter last season.

They had a measly 8-1 record before then. Let me guess, Favre had nothing to do with that?
