Damn. Donald Young just took out Tommy Haas

Who the hell saw this coming?

I had the under 19.5 games figuring Haas would smoke em..Never thought Young would do it to him instead..Ya never freakin know here

Know what..you blow this off like nothing..This is a big upset!..People do care and Moya is kickin Malisse`s ass

nobody cares about a international series tourney before the olympics. these are the people not able to get into the olympics or would be qualifiers in masters or premier tournies for the most part. got haas, safin, roddick, verdasco, thats it pretty much.

Haas is actually a really good player. He had to be here since I'm pretty sure he's the defending champ. I have absolutely no idea why the fuck Roddick is in this tournament. Barely any points or money up for grabs and he should be preparing for the Olympics.

Young is a dreadful player. Haas is light years better. Haas obviously did not show up for this match. I wouldnt read much more into it. Haas could beat him 6-1/6-0 if they played tomorrow.

American teenager Donald Young posted the first big upset of the Countrywide Classic, defeating two-time champion and No. 8 seed Tommy Haas 6-2, 6-4 in one hour and 23 minutes, Tuesday in Los Angeles.
The 19-year-old snapped a four-match losing streak as he broke the German's serve twice in each set. Young, who is making his tournament debut this week at a No. 100 ranking, will be looking to win consecutive matches for the first time since March at Indian Wells when he faces Frenchman Marc Gicquel.
Haas, 30, had won 11 of his past 12 matches in Los Angeles coming into his first round match and now falls to a 14-12 event record. He captured the title in 2004 (d. Kiefer) and '06 (d. Tursunov).
Fifth-seeded Russian Marat Safin (pictured) needed a break of serve in each set to advance to the second round with a 6-3, 6-4 win against 6'9" American John Isner. The former World No. 1 will attempt to match his best Los Angeles result - a quarterfinal run last year (l. to Lee) - when he faces Wayne Odesnik. Odesnik came back to defeat Bobby Reynolds 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in an all-American first round match.
Two other Americans also made their way safely into the second round Tuesday. Vince Spadea set up a second round meeting with sixth-seeded compatriot Mardy Fish by defeating Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Meanwhile, American qualifier Amer Delic saved all five break point chances faced against Israeli Dudi Sela while converting on two of his six opportunities to advance, 6-4, 6-4.
Lucky loser Dusan Vemic of Serbia earned a second round clash with top seed Andy Roddick after battling to a 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 win over American qualifier Sam Warburg in two hours and 54 minutes.

Good to know..Wish someone would have mentioned it earlier..Still time though..still time

Roddick will be a good fade on these slow courts.

This is a little shocking, I saw Young in his past couple tournaments and he was looking dreadful. Last match he lost 1 and 1 to a food poisoned Monfils.

The kid does have some talent, just seemed to be low on confidence lately which was leading to quick, frankly embarrassing losses.
