.....and decided to retire again? Pennington will already be with someone else and the Jets will be SOL.

I think this is a very real possibility the way hes flip flopped over the last 5 months. He's going through a lot of unstable emotions right now too and really hasnt had time to think about this since it just happened on Tuesday......Should be an interesting next month.

Very possible. It will be another media circus for sure dumb QB passes on 20 million to retire goes to Jets and remembered how it was to be on a bad team retires after 2nd game and leaves team high and dry for a QB. Thanks Brett Retire and make Something about Mary Part 2.

Then the world would spin off of its axis.

Is there anything to prevent the Jets from trading him to the Vikings? Maybe they can get more than a 3rd round pick for Favre.

Adam Schefter reports that if the Jets trade Farve to the Vikings, the Packers receive 3 1st round picks from NY. Nice poison pill to make sure the Vikings do not get Farve.

and some of you still say favre is a honorable and respectable athlete. favre is the same typical athlete you see these days. i have no doubt he will back out of the jet offer and end up in tampa.

I think Favre would be more concerned the Jets like him especially if he gets off to a bad start.

Good point, Favre is all about "me, me, me"
Reggie Jackson comes to mind here.

you have to give him credit with not taking the money to stay retired at least. I thought that was respectable.

No owner in his right mind would pay a player to stay retired...don't think it has ever happened...just a media thing....

It's unfortunate, but it has more to do with athletes not being able to turn it "off". I doubt we understand it...very much like a drug or an addiciton.

I guess that makes most of the best athletes of the last 100 years scumbags too.

Joe Namath to the Rams
Jerry Rice to 3 different teams
Emmitt Smith to Zona
Michael Jordan to the Wiz
Joe Montana to KC
and on and on and on....

It all blows over...just takes time.

Of course we can all understand Moss wanting to get out of Minnesota.

He didn't really hold them hostage until this year...when he actually retired...and then came back.

All the other stuff was just talk. No real harm...but annoying.
