Do you feel it is wrong to bet against the U.S in a total medals won bet?

How do you feel about that?

I seen where Fezzik likes China over the United States in a total medals won bet. I think the price is around China -140 or so.

Would you pull the trigger on a bet like this or do you feel sort of wrong doing it?

Here is the thing, this isnt one event. This is the entire Olympics so you would be more or less rooting againt the United States in EVERY event.

Like to hear your opinions on this?

not at all.......ive bet europe numerous times in the ryder cup over the years......it all depends.....from a gamblers point of view ill bet against or for anything if the price is right

I agree completely with you ST.

Most likely wont be paying a lot of attention anyways to the games until I get more settled in from my move.

I seen on CNBC where a computor program has predicted the winner of the most medals by country EVERY time..............they have the US winning the most this year.

Is this thread a joke. You aren't a gambler if you don't take the wager that is the best play or the one you think will win.

Does that mean that all alumni of any school should never wager agains their own school?

Not trying to be a dick to you or your thread Iceman, but the Olympics are a joke in terms of Nationalism. Personally, I think they should get rid of the Olympics, NBC seems to be the only people who don't know that people don't care anymore.

I bet this last night at Bet365 for EVEN money, CHINA MOST MEDALS.

Max was only 200$

It is not China vs USA, but it is China vs anyone else (Most medals)

You have to like the sweeping generalisations from an American about a worldwide event.

Then again, perhaps Americans would care more if NBC actually showed things live. I've just finished watching the opening ceremony, which airs in America in about 7 hours.

Why would it be wrong? I'm not American, but I would have absolutely no problem betting against the Canadians to do well in the Olympics. I'm hoping we do well, but if there was a total medals bet that I thought was too high I would have no problem betting the under and cheering for my bet to win.

I find it easier to bet against Canada than to bet against a team I've been cheering for my whole life like the Jays, Leafs or Broncos, although I have no problem fading them either.

FWIW the US just lost a boxer due to dehydration who was pretty sure to medal..so thats one less..he is out now

I love the US..But I bet on what ever I think will make me $...If I got Cuba in baseball..I hope they kick the American`s butts..

And I have several fighters I hope knock US boxer`s blocks off..

Uncle Sam dont give a fuk about me and raises my taxes every fukkin year..I could give a fuk if they dont win one medal..

Except for the Softball and male soccer team..Got some cash on them

This is a ridiculous question, who the f* cares. You, of all people, should know that you don't let your emotions influence your wagering and any refusal to bet on the US would be an emotional decision. I've bet against my teams before (generally successfully), it's the same thing.

Everyone needs to slow down it was just a question if anyone feels unpatriotic. That was all I wanted was to hear of anyone would have felt that way. Kind of like betting againsyour favorite teams.

I NEVER once said I wouldnt do it. In fact I agreed with ST early in the thread. I would make the bet in a heartbeat but it would probably take some of the fun of watching the games for people was my point.
