How do you guys like the title of the thread? (LOL) Just trying to have a little fun with the heat. God knows I need it. Thought I would try and keep a thread of my time here in Vegas. Maybe a month to month look at how things are going out in Las Vegas for me. Like I said yesterday maybe a few others can use this as a learning tool if they ever think of making the big move out here to do this or maybe this thread will sway others to not make the move. Who knows, we shall see how it goes.

To basically review where I am from other threads. I am 37 years old and this past winter me and my soon to be wife (hate saying girlfriend at 37 years old and the word fiancee sounds dumb to me) decided to pack up our 2 dogs and 1 cat and make the big move out here. I have always wanted to come to Vegas and live for a year or two since as long back as I can remember. Couple that with I had never left the area where I grew up and we were both looking for career changes. Not getting too specfic but a few things also happened along the way this past winter in our lives where we seen a few people regretting the fact they never took a risk in life or followed their dreams and so we decided we didnt want to feel like that later in life. We both felt we were going down that same path in our lives and if we didnt go now, we most likely never would have went.

The plan is for her to work and from the other stuff I/we do, make enough combined to pay our monthly bills. Basically allowing myself a chance to try and bet and build a bankroll on the side without having to worry about "winning the rent money". Hopefully this will lessen the stress that comes with living this lifestyle. I have always believed that if I was too truly attempt this than that part must be a must. The ultimate goal is to walk away from this in the future with a certain amount of money saved up. I think along the way we plan to try and focus on our next future goals (whatever that is) and to live a pretty simple life here in Vegas (if that is possibile, LOL). When I mean simple, I mean cheap.

Left town Monday and morning and drove 30 hours from Michigan only stopping to eat, sleep and gas up. Our moving company just arrived at our Michigan residence today due to a huge mix up and so we are currently living in our Vegas home without furniture, beds and most of our clothes. It hasnt been fun but we do now have internet and TV up and going, so this makes things more bearable.

GF was hired at one of the Vegas casino's to work as a web designer. I hope to do some of the things I have been doing successfully the past 2 years betting wise and adding in some more of the Vegas things into the mix. Have spoke to a few different posters about "working" with/for them in Vegas doing some different things. I am meeting 2 different groups of people later in the week/month to go over this. Hopefully that works out on that end. I will continue to play mainly offshore but I would be lying if I said that moving money became so frustrating and is also another of the many reasons why I am here right now. Hopefully one day that will all be figured out and we can get back to the "good ole days" of betting sports and moving money. God knows I miss them days dearly.

That pretty much sums everything about why and what we were thinking as to this move. Going to add another post in a few minutes about since I have been here and what I have seen and felt.

A few randoms thoughts and observations-

First off thanks a lot to everyone who has wished us good luck and any help along the way. That has been really cool on everyone's part here at the RX. That truly means a lot to us. I will say last nite I was at rock bottom from a mood standpoint, remember I am sleeping on a crappy mattress on the floor and have little to no clothes or any of our stuff for that matter. I was having just a miserable evening and got on the computer and seen a few people saying some nice things like how they wish they could have did something like this and it instantly lifted my spirits. It made me realize that I knew that not everything is going to be as perfect as we planned but the point is I am here in Vegas doing something I love, during the best time of the year (football season). I instantly felt better about everything. Thanks again everyone.

Having a hard time with the whole time change thing, just as I expected. I keep looking up at my clock and seeing 7:00 locally or so and realizing that most of the games are done on the east coast. This will take quite a bit of getting use to for me. We went to bed again last nite about 9:00 PST and woke up at 6:00 am. Not sure if I am still tired from the ride out here or what it is. I keep thinking about things in Michigan time and it sort of confuses me when to call people. I am sure it will take awhile to get use too. I have had this argument with west coaster for years on what time zone is better for sports fans and I will be very surprise if I ever change my opinion of this and say west coast.

As for betting wise I still havent placed a bet since I have been here (and that includes on the internet), which is the longest stretch I have been on in years. Who would have thought I would have been in Vegas for 48 hours and nothing, not even a slot machine. Like I have said in the past most of that stuff dont excite me in the least bit. I havent even made it down to the strip yet. Just been too busy. I dont plan on getting down there till Sunday at the earliest. GF drove down there yesterday and said it was a madhouse.

Cant wait for the bash. Anyone gets into town early, get ahold of me thru this thread. I know Betallsports said he should be in town early. Heck at the rate I am moving around here maybe someone can show me around town, LOL. Either way we should have a really good time.

Hoping to get involved in a few football contests around town. Not sure which ones are the best. I am for sure going to enter the Hilton contest. I may also be a proxy for that if anyone is interested in enetering that get in contact with me.

A few people have talked about the great food in town. I think this could be a problem for me. I am not sure where to even start on where to eat as there must be at least 50 places to eat withinn a mile of my home. Greendoberman or anyone else that knows good stuff out my way, any reccomendations? Also looking for a park or so too take my dogs a few times a week. I am sure I can look it up but if anyone knows feel free to share it as walking dogs in our subdivision hasnt been all that fun so far.

*on a side note- GF just called all excitied about the fact her vehicle mileage just hit 8888.8 and todays date is 8-8-8. She thinks she suppose to be lucky or something. I told her to stop in a store and put some money in a slot as it must be her lucky day. Worse thing is I think she believes me and might actually do this.

Honestly have thought about this a lot, risking what we had (a normal stable healthy relationship). I think she loves my mother more than me as they now talk a few times a day. I always wanted a GF that go along with my mom but this is getting a little ridiculous. I think if we broke up it might hurt her more to lose my mom than to lose me.

One thing I also worry about is she is going to be working with a group of 4 people fulltime, the problem is they are all men. I bet I will be the butt of some jokes about what I do for a living. I can only imagine what they will be saying. I really dont care though.

But to be perfectly honest with you I trust her with my life. She is as close to perfect as any women I have ever known in so many regards. She is the most motivated, loyal, beautiful, outgoing, caring person I have ever known and to tell you the truth she is probably way too good for me (also I know a bunch of people are going to be meeting her next week so I have to post all these nice things about her, LOL but they are true).

Ice, Yes I will be in This Sunday night. I emailed you the other day with my cell #. So if you are up late Sunday night, you can give me a call
or Monday morning ( NOT @ 6am ) LOL

I know Vegas pretty much ok, but like I told you My Friend who moved there like 11-12 years ago could most likely tell you a lot more.
Plus, he knows almost everything about all the Casino's, etc...

I would also think that GD has so much Info as well.

fair question. One I actually expected from a few people. Yes I am hung like a mule:missingte

I paid most of the bills in our last arrangement and we had some vey nice things. She has been with me thru all this and knows how much time and effort I put into and how I have been able to do and she is letting me live this out for the time being (or maybe the promise of children was enough for her, I am not sure, LOL).

It all boils down our money is combined and we think this gives us our best chance to accumulate money at a faster rate than we would any other way. The only reason I go in-depth about her paying the bills is I want to stress too others that this isnt as risky as it sounds. Basically if I go broke then we go home. I have had questions thrown out at me before from a few loved ones and the best way too answer them and to put most peoples mind at ease is to tell them that the plan is for her to pay the bills (not an expensive life) and for me to work on buildiing our bankroll. As long as we are getting the bills paid and I am not doing anything illegal than everything should be fine if we are happy with it.

Ice, keep your head on straight out there(hard to do) and you will be fine.

Hell, I hustled casinos land and online for years and made decent at it. My problem is/was the booze. Get booze in me, and I am as undisaplined as they come.

I stay away from it, I am sharp, as sharp as they come.

If I had to bet, I would say from your posting you have more than enough smarts to make it out there. There are tons of ways to make money gambling, and most aren't known to the "regular joe"

take care

thanks.

I have said this time and time again.

The 2 big reasons that were icing on the cake for me to do this move is the people I am going to work with on a day to day basis are all longtime winners and without themI am not sure I would have made the move, more than likely not.

The other main reason is the stability of my soon to be wife. Without her I would have never had the patience and perisitence she has to make all things right in the end.
