Verlander has to pitch well sometime, doesn't he? Toronto's offense is abysmal and have never seen Verlander before. Marcum has struggled lately, and it's not a good time to face a Detroit lineup that is starting to heat up.
Beckett at such a low chalk anytime is a good bet, even though he has struggled this year. But alot of that struggle happens at Fenway, plus Beckett is 4-0 career against the ChiSox. Danks doesn't pitch well at home either, and doesn't have good career numbers against Boston. I'll take Boston.
This play is mostly based on the pitching matchup. I just have the feeling a ground-ball pitcher like Lowe can get the job done against the Phillies' lineup.
Good Luck to everyone.
