From the AP preview:

Pettitte is 7-0 with a 3.77 ERA over his last 10 starts against Kansas City, though he escaped without a loss after getting pounded for a career high-tying 10 runs in 6 2-3 innings in his last start against the team, a 12-11 Yankees victory on June 7. The veteran left-hander has not lost to the Royals since Aug. 18, 1999, at Yankee Stadium and is 12-3 with a 3.58 ERA in 21 overall outings— 19 starts—against them.
Pettitte is 0-2 with an 8.83 ERA over his last three starts. He gave up three runs and 10 hits in seven-plus innings but did not get a decision in the Yankees’ 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.
The Royals counter with Gil Meche (10-9, 4.24), who is 4-0 with a 2.48 ERA in five starts since the All-Star break. However, the right-hander is coming off a somewhat rocky showing against Minnesota on Sunday in which he allowed four runs and walked seven in 6 1-3 innings of Kansas City’s 12-inning, 5-4 win.
The Royals have won each of Meche’s last seven starts.
Meche is 3-4 with a 4.64 ERA in 12 career starts against New York. He struggled against the Yankees last season, going 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA in three starts.

Who cares what Pettitte has done over the course of his career against KC.

Even with their road woes, this is a different Kansas City team than in years past and more importantly, this is a different Andy Pettite.

+190 is a bargain.

Meche a very solid road pitcher.

Pettite worse at home than he is on the road.

Agree +190 is a bargain.. Lay the farm no but I would take 190 before laying 220 on this team right now. A crazying thing though the Yanks and the home stretch to make playoffs.
Staying off the game sounds like a better move.

If these 25 guys traded spots with the 25 guys on the Royals, the Royals would not be -220 tonight. It's simple.

When I look at this game I don't think: "Wow, what great value on KC"

I think "What horrible value on NY"

KC isn't a team I would put money on against a team that can be really hot or really cold, like the yankees. Yeah they've been looking real bad lately but that doesn't make KC a better team.

Just my opinion, good luck tonight.

Obviously a solid core, but one that I'm not too afraid of given the two automatic outs at the end of the order.

The Yankees are a very mediocre team this year, just as the Royals are.

As someone mentioned later on in this thread, this isn't necessarily a "Wow, there's value in the Royals!" play, it's more the "Holy fucking shit, the Yankees shouldn't be -220 against a Little League team this season!" play.

I understand you're a Yankee fan, but is it necessary to become a homer in every thread in regards to the Yankees?

As a Red Sox fan, I surely have my days where I cannot fathom people picking against the Red Sox, but I never go into peoples threads and make myself look like an asshole like you do on a daily basis.
