Things are bad enough for the Yanks & getting worse. Down 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th, lead off batter gets on & they put a pinch runner in who gets picked off 1st base:nohead:

If the pinch runner does not get picked off the Yanks at worst tie the game, instead they lose again. Very poor concentration & execution by entire team.

they should have never trailed heading into the bottom of the 9th..they should have never trailed in this game...they stranded a ton of risp all night...they did nothing extra to try to win this game...the season is over for them.

Joe G . made all the wrong moves in this game, Rivera should have never brought in when game was tied, his #'s are poor in these situations, & no way should a pinch runner been put in. Joe needs to get his head out of his ass! Just maybe the Yanks made the wrong choice of manager, Donny baseball where are you???

At home trailing by 1 with man on 1st with no outs Johnny D should have been bunting, no pinch runner needed. At home ya play to tie it ! Joe G blew this game!

putting in your closer in a tie game at home has become the norm in baseball, but wtf happens to Rivera when he has to hold a tie down?? He blows it, and he has done it a lot this year.

Not put a pinch runner in? You crazy?

Christian is their fastest player by far and Betimit is slow as shit.

He made a mistake doesnt mean it was the wrong decision.

If you have the bases loaded and 2 outs and you pinch hit and bring in Albert Pujols and he strikes out it doesnt make it a bad decision.

Tie game in the ninth inning, you bring your closer in the game.
There is no save situation . You bring Rivera in regardless of what
his numbers are in non save situations especially since he had not
pitched in a couple of days. Imagine if he put in Veres or Marte in that situation and they let up the runs. Everyone would be killing Girardi saying
"WTF is he doing not putting his best pitcher in the game".

No way should a pinch runner been put in??? Another no brainer.
He steals second , he scores on Jeter's hit. Can't blame Joe for that either. The catcher was throwing out runners at a 16% clip. Christian should have been running much earlier in the count.
