Can anyone confirm that their checks are taking up to 30 days to clear? That sounds like a specific bank issue that someone is personally having, I do not believe this to be the case for everyone. I have never had a problem depositing their checks at Bank of America.

I have cashed numerous checks this year from them and all of them came from Canada. Although the last check I cashed was back in June.

Their checks are no longer drawn on BofA. When they were I would just go cash them simple as day, but now they are drawn on a Candaian Bank and the bank has to wait to receive the funds from the Canadaian Bank

They were shipped from Canada, but drawn on a bank from Florida, look at the routing number if have you a copy of one of their checks.

just cashed one a few days ago.
no problems.
just have enough money in your checking account (more money than the check amt obviously) and your bank should cash it.
if not, find a new bank.

Was the check drawn on a domestic or Candaian Bank?

That could still be a "Hold". You have 10k in checking, present check for 5k, get cash. If your balance drops below 5k, checks may bounce if you write them.

I wouldn't argue with a 2nd checking acct, but I don't have one.

It's sorta like having a 2nd credit card.

You could keep one small, just for stuff like e-checks.

How do you even find out when they clear? I've never had one not clear but i never knew when it did clear. I just assumed after 2 weeks it must have cleared or i would have heard about it.
