Hes saying if you take the Phelps leg out the race is a lot closer. Phelps created the space and Lezak just had to hold which he did.

yea, that is why most thought he would fall short. something was bound to happen even if it was just by one one hundredth of a second...

I laugh at these people that poo-poo swimming.
Do you know how hard that is.
I used to be a catcher in school, and I was fooling around with some friendly swimming races the day before a game, my muscles were so shot the next day, I couldn't even throw the ball back to the catcher.

bill some people just like to hate (for lack of a better term)... no one can diminish this accomplishment.

that being said it is impossible to compare from one sport to another the most amazing accomplishments but without a doubt this guy is the greatest swimmer of all time.
