I like it, Mets head back to Shea after this, already won 1st 3, can see a lot of Mets resting. Thing that worries me is the Pen , but they should be well rested. Go for it, I am METS/PITT UN 8.5 -115 :103631605

Aug 17 After Reyes had one error Sunday, and nearly had a second and almost was picked off second base, manager Jerry Manuel said he would be off Monday, the NY Daily News' Mets blog reports.

I could see the Pirates winning this game like 5-1 or 5-2.

The Mets are in a heated race with the Phillies. There is no way their bats are taking the day off! This is going to be a high scoring game today. 8-5 PITT

Well, Jerry Manuel has already said that Jose Reyes will not be playing today. He's the fireplug to the offense. David Wright had yesterday off.

Does anyone have the info/record on the umpire today? That info might also be helpful.

the phillies have been in a heated pennant race with the mets and their bats have been taking the last few weeks off. there are 40 games left in the season. the mets could get shut out today and not even care. theyve already accomplished their goal for this trip.

Agree 100%. Mets looking past this game. Definetly looking forward to going home after this successful trip.

Any word if John Maine's shoulder/arm will be able to make it 5+ innings?

This Maholm kid for the Pirates doesn't look to shabby.

I'm thinking maybe NY might let up a bit since their lead in the NL East is getting bigger and Phillies & the Fish are sliding a bit.

Maholm's first appearance vs. Mets in '08 but carreer v NY he is 3-1 with a 2.16 ERA (25.0IP/6ER) so it's looking like he'll be coming out strong. Just hoping the Pirates bats can help him.

I'm laying 2 units on Pirates ML +128

Nostradamus here, if the game stands as is (5-2 late 8th)
