The truth behind the SportsOptions/BetCris situation

It has now been reported that BetCris owns a significant piece of Don Best, which explains their constant attacks on SportsOptions.

What is crazy about BetCris’ actions is that not only were we in the line-service business well before they decided to get into bed with Don Best, but I personally had discussions with them last year about our plans and they were very supportive.

But now that they have decided to get into the line-service business, they are acting as if we should fold our tents and go home so they can re-monopolize the industry. Well not only did we start our business well before BetCris decided to get into bed with DB , but we have a significant investment in our company, so why should we be bullied out of our own industry? We have made a commitment to our customers and we plan on living up to it.

From the minute they bought into Don Best, BetCris has attempted to bully other sportsbooks to not do business with SportsOptions. And when I say bully, I am not talking about a friend asking for a favor – they have threatened everything from cancelling transfers to threatening to withhold future business. BetCris even pulled their advertising off theRX, and went as far as to ask other sportsbooks to not do business with theRX, even though they know that SportsOptions and theRX have no involvement.

So you have to wonder why giants like Don Best and BetCris would make such aggressive moves against a startup company. Obviously the want to continue their stranglehold on the outrages prices DB charges. When 2 companies like this get together, price fixing is almost guaranteed. Just think about it – if BetCris plans to use all if its business influences to keep other sportsbooks from doing business with other line-services, Don Best will be able to charge whatever they want and will be held to zero standards.

Since we opened our doors, our Mission Statement has been simple: Deliver the fastest and most accurate information at the best price. We want to be the Pinnacle of the line-service industry.

We have a strong belief that a free market in any industry is best for consumers, which is why we have embraced our competitors. Because of the competition in the line-service industry, customers are getting better information, improved programs and lower prices from all services.

We would obviously prefer not to have conflicts with any other company and we have made multiple attempts and offers to BetCris to try and find a solution, but we have been rebuffed each time.

Regardless of what BetCris and Don Best choose to do, we will continue to fight for a free market in the line-service industry, giving consumers the opportunity to pick the service that best fits their needs, whether it be Don Best, G&J Update, LinesMover or SportsOptions.

Not suprised at Cris, they are the same scumbags who did reverse transfers when Aces Gold went down.

Rick, Help clear something up for me ... I thought linesmover bought Don best ... and my understanding is Linesmover is owned by a company out of Vancouver called Big Stick Media. So did Betcris buy into Big Stick? (which is a publically trading company).

Sort of like David vs Goliath...I think both line services can co-exist with the right management...

When you say you want to be the Pinnacle of line services, are you referring to the reduced juice comparing that to lower prices? Sometimes less is not better, ever hear the saying you get what you pay for? My two cents is that both can co-exist, especially if you have a good product.....reminds me of the cola and burger wars, LOL

Orbit,

You are correct. From what I have read, BetCris funded the Big Stick deal for Don Best (I think Big Stick had to come up with around 8m) which made them the largest shareholders in Big Stick.

Thanks

VD - Yes, my comparison to Pinnacle is our lower prices, but also a quality product. Pinny is able to offer reduced juice, but still give a great product.

I agree completely about co-existing - we are not looking to 'take down' Don Best. DB should embrace the fact that we are getting more customers using line-services.

Thanks
Rick

BetCris is the "Titanic" of the offshore books. The thing is they will never sink. They have so much money its unbelievable. I don't play there but lots of people do and love it there. Their high payout+transfer fees and twenty cent bases keep me away.

Rick, I wouldn't worry about Don Best..You have a Great product in SportsOptions.

I think most knew this would happen once Cris took a piece of the action.

VD said it best, both can co-exist . But Cris wants it all.

Maybe I should Throw in some Facts about Don Best here.

Please note, if I'm Offending anyone with my next Statement. But some should know this.

I wonder what people would think about DB, if they knew that they Hold back on Information ?

Information like, when Injuries comes in and they DON'T post it.
(Release it to the Public )

Don't know about most, but if I paid fuking $600 a month and found out they were holding back information. I would be PISSED

And I'm not talking just on a Gambling stand point, But as a Book as well.
