2 Questions for people in Vegas

I am almost done planning my trip to the States, I will finalize all my plans this week when I get a green light from my job, but I have 2 questions remaining and some help from locals would be appreciated.

I will probably be in Vegas by end of September, but this could change to middle of October depending on work-obligations (working on some lame ass project that has Murphy's Law written all over it).
How is the weather in Vegas during this period. Are the pools still open or is it too cold for a swim?

2nd question.
How hard is it to get from the Strip to the UNLV-stadium and is it hard to tickets for their games (Football)?

Thanks in advance

Sam Boyd Stadium is less than 10 miles from the strip. Make sure you are on the same side as Billy if the lights go out. Are you familiar with the 55 minute rule? Good Luck

The weather will still be very warm, 90s and 100s.

Tickets will be no problem at all. The only game that may get a decent crowd would be the one against Nevada (Reno).

The stadium is quite a distance from the Strip and it would cost you well more to get a cab there and back than to rent a car. I would advise that if you plan on attending a game out there. It is located on the far eastern side of town past Sam's Town basically out in the middle of nowhere.

Feel free to get my email from a mod if you have any other questions and hope you enjoy your trip.:103631605

I can't believe a bunch of squares were on the dog. Do you know the police filed a report saying a car hit a power pole? Is that crook(your local) still in business?

I can't believe you all think those rumors are true. BW's just lucky like that sometimes. :missingte Just because it was his wife driving the car doesn't mean a thing.

GreenDoberman, I have only been there once, but I thought it was only 9 or 10 miles from the strip? At least it is closer than Santa Fe Station.

yes, it is about 10 miles east of the Strip. Pretty much a straight shot down Tropicana. With traffic and lights and whatever game traffic is on the street, it runs around $30 each way for a cab.

Average high temp in Las Vegas for the month of October is 82 degrees. In late September, upper 80's, low 90's. The strip hotel pools should be open. For sure in September.

Awesome time of year to be in Vegas-PERFECT temps. You'll actually find it a little chilly if it's a night game.
