Is it legal or illegal to display a magnetic commercial sign on a non-commercial vehicle in NJ? The sign is about 18" x 12" and is advertising for a family business.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

I have never heard of any laws anywhere that say that it is illegal at all.

Update.........I just called the New Jersey Motor Vehicles Department and to my surprise you can be ticketed for doing this.

The laws reads...you must have a commercial license plate to have these signs on a car or a truck......
