Cubs are known for lackluster getaway day games and today will be the perfect example.

Marquis was tough in his last outing, but don't expect to see the same from him today.

Duke has shown the ability to be a decent pitcher.

Geez. Have you ever seen any team to start their catcher in a day game after a night game? Everyone knew yesterday that Soto wouldn't start today.

Piniella is stupid. He should of rested Lee, Soriano, and Ramirez.

Almost in every instance when a team plays a early day game after a night game, you'll see catchers rested. Go ask anyone. They'll even rest their older players, which is why you don't see Edmonds in the lineup also.

Yeah, he's stupid...for not resting starters when he's in an important stretch to end the season. You can't think he's content with giving games away with only 5 game lead and the Brewers are red hot in August. On top of the fact they play at home in their next series against Philly and they play at night. Lots of rest time.

As for the game...

I took the Cubbies for game and u5.5 for 1st 5

I think the Cubs lock up a solid 5-2 type win here.

i second that cubbies arent going to say anything but they are keeping a very close eye on the brew crew thought they had them in the rear view mirror after the 4 game sweep in miller park but the brew crew just keep hanging around and sweet lou is not going to let the scrubbies take anything for granted you shoulda played the 5-0 angle for PIT in these 12:35 starts so far this year

I dont think you earn the best record in baseball by not having a desire to win every single game. If anything they should have more of a desire to win today. This is a series they should expect to get a sweep. Most series you shoot to win 2 of 3. but playing against a team as bad as the pirates this late in the season you dont want to give up a w you know you should have had.
