Adam "Pacman" Jones was reinstated today by National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell, making him eligible to play in the Dallas Cowboys' regular- season opener in Cleveland.

The league in June allowed Jones, a cornerback and kick returner who was suspended last season after multiple arrests, to practice with the Cowboys and play in preseason games. Today's full reinstatement was confirmed by NFL spokesman Greg Aiello.
The Cowboys acquired Jones's rights on April 23 from the Tennessee Titans, where he played his first two NFL seasons.
Jones, 24, received a 16-game ban in April 2007 for conduct detrimental to the league after his fifth arrest in less than two years.
"This is another step in the process," Jones said in a statement released by the Cowboys. "I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I understand my responsibilities to the Dallas Cowboys and the National Football League."
In December, Jones pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct after being ejected from a Las Vegas strip club in February 2007, shortly before a triple shooting that left an employee paralyzed.
Jones, the sixth pick in the 2005 draft, had four interceptions for Tennessee during his first two NFL seasons, returning one for a touchdown. He also had four punt returns for scores.
The Cowboys open the NFL regular season on Sept. 7 against the Browns.

It's about time. Yes he's a scum bag and has been around a lot of bad things but he's never been convicted of anything. He's been charged with countless things but he's never been convicted, and he's never spent a minute in jail.

There are players around the league that get DUI's and go unscathed but Pac-Man enjoys strip clubs and gets suspended due to it. Was he around bad things and in the middle of a lot of controversies? Yes, but he personally was never committed of a crime.

I'm all for the NFL crackdown but some of this shit is too severe. The NFL handled this situation horribly. If he was convicted of something I'd have a different opinion but he never was.

The NFL handled this situation as poorly as the Bears handled the Tank Johnson situation. Releasing a player because police said he may have been drunk and then it turns out he wasn't.

Hopefully it woke Pac up and now he may chose who he's around more carefully, but being out for an entire year because of charges and not convictions is outrageous. Holding the black man down....

Would you be suspended from your job for being involved in bad incidents? Probably not. Why we hold Professional Athletes to such high standards is beyond me.

A doctor or lawyer wouldn't be suspended from their job because their job would never find out about these incidents. The only way they'd find out is if they got convicted, but he never was. The guy has been around a lot of trouble but he, personally, has never been convicted of anything; since joining the NFL.

In College and High School he was convicted but since he's been in the NFL he hasn't been convicted of anything. He's been arrested but all charges have been dropped.

Don't get me wrong the guy's a total idiot but the NFL tends to act too soon in this situations. Pac-Man is the worst of them all but some guys get suspended before there trials. In this country you are innocent until proven guilty, and in the NFL you are guilty until proven innocent and I personally don't think that is right.

MAKING IT RAIN IS BALLER! You shouldn't be suspended for that shit. You should be rewarded. MAKE IT RAIN ON THEM BITCHESSSSSSSSSSS PAC

If you've been arrested 6-10 times in a year or so then yes, you'd probably lose your job. Also, quit saying he was never convicted. He accepted probation in some cases in order to avoid a conviction.

The NFL has every right to do what it wants to. Nobody has a right to play in the NFL, it's a priveledge for a few talented people. Pacman is a turd, plain and simple.

It won't be long before his dumbass is arrested again for something. He's just an ignorant fool who is lucky he can run fast with a football in his hand and cover people.

Actually only accepted probation once and it was back in College. He got his probation extended in 2005 for not mentioning that he got arrested to his probation officer but he was not convicted. He has not been sentenced to probation since 2005. Every charge since has been dropped.
