Not sure that would be wise. In order to win this bet, you need Chicago to win by 2 runs or more with one less at bat against one of the best offenses in baseball in a hitter's park. Three Phillies have 30 HR's plus. I would say no way.

save your money on that RL and put it on Toronto. Burnett vs. Pavano and Toronto is favored in New York.

Harden is great. One of my favorites to bet on when he was in Oakland but his lines are just too high right now. He was never this huge of a favorite in Oakland. Chicago has a great chance to win and even win by 2 or more but laying juice and laying a run and a half to an offense like Philadelphia in that park just doesn't seem like a good decision. You asked and I gave my opinion.

The only reason the line for Toronto isnt higher is because Baltimore let Pavano off the hook so everyone doesnt really know how big of a gascan he is. The ump in this game will be critical because Pavano's fast ball only gets up to around 87. So he likes to nibble at the outside/inside part of the plate. So if its an over type of ump their will be blood in Yankee stadium. But the only other thing is the Yanks are hitting a "little" bit better and its hard to beat a 4 times in a season. AJ might be "due" for a loss agianst the Yanks or at least a bad outing.

They aren't going to make New York a big home underdog no matter what. You're right. Pavano was bad against Baltimore but the box score only showed him allowing 3 runs (Baltimore had runners all over the place). The fact that the oddsmaker has made Toronto a favorite at New York tells me a lot. Burnett is clearly the better pitcher. With Halladay going Sunday they will be favored in that game as well.

Unload on the Cubs. Harden dominated them earlier this year and he will do it again. Fat man Blanton will give up alot of runs too. This is coming from a Philies fan and first time all year I will fade them.

I had Oakland huge in that game and Harden was unreal. The line was about half of what it is now though.

I know Harden has devastating stuff, but that kind of chalk against a stacked Philadelphia lineup is not wise. I actually like the value with Philly tommorrow, although Blanton has gotten hit around lately.

And, you have to remember that Harden usually doesn't go that deep into games. Philly has the superior bullpen so Harden may leave with a nice lead only to have his bullpen give up some runs. If the wind is blowing out no way would i lay the 1.5.

Did you watch the bullpen tonight? Outside of Lidge their shit right now and I would know. Harden only needs to go 6 innings then the Cubs go to Samardzija, Marmol, and Wood who are all lights out.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

For the majority of the year the Phillies bullpen has been great. One or two bad nights don't make them terrible. Marmol has been good at times and really bad. I still think the bullpen edge goes to Philadelphia.

Lately they have been horrible especially Madson and I don't see Blanton going more than 5 innings. Marmol has a 0.44 era in the second half. I want the Phillies to win, but I don't see it happening. They could win with Myers or Moyer, but not Blanton.

Haven't read any of the other posts in this thread besides the main one, so i'm sure this has been mentioned before.

Harden sometimes has control issues, which can make them go to their bullpen in the 5th-6th. With J-Roll being hot right now, the Phillies may be able to take advantage.

Here's an interesting stat. Since Harden was traded to Chicago, the Cubs are 6-2 in his 8 starts. Since Blanton was traded to Philadelphia, the Phillies are 5-2 in his 7 starts.

Just some info here... Wood has pitched 4 days in a row. There is no way they will let him pitch again today. So Marmol will most likely be the closer today. He's looked great lately, but I wouldn't make this bet unless I was sold on Harden going 7. That being said, I'll probably be on them. Homer. This is just a special team this year that finds ways to win and score runs. I think they should cover unless Marmol gives up one of his patented meaningless home runs that makes them only win by one. That has happened at least 4-5 times this year.

Never lay -1.5 with a home team EVER. They only get to bat 8 innings. I parlayed the Cubs with Temple ML tonight -115 return.

Starting to like the over more and more.
