Cazares is a tough mexican fighter much in the mold of Antonio Margarito. Even though he has a couple blemishes on his record, all but one of his loses came before the year 2000. Cazares only loss since then was to his opponent tonight, Ring Magazine champion Ivan Calderon. Calderon is 31-0 but resembles Floyd Mayweather more than a boxer with any sort of KO power. Calderon beat Cazares in his native Puerto Rico in a very controversial split decision a couple years ago. In the fight, Cazares had hurt Calderon very badly and even had him on the mat one time.
