NO can't get a break - it will be underwater soon - I wonder whose fault it is going to be this time - Bush's?

funny story, my buddy is an insurance adjuster. when he went to NO after the hurricane, he was in some shit areas but everyone said they had a 60' flat screen, a top stereo system and on and on. when asked who told them to say they had all of this stuff, one guy replied.....THE MAYOR.

Cities should not be built below sea level.

Cities that get destroyed once should not be rebuilt below sea level.

It made some sense years ago when boat dependent but now it is just silly.

I agree totally, unless they are many miles inland.

There is good chance Gustav could track west and make landfall in Texas. I am not saying that is a good thing but as far as very vulnerable New Orleans is concerned it has to be considered the lessor of two evils.

Plus, if it missed just west of NO - the most powerful winds are on the NE side so NO is going to get anal raped unless the storm really goes west - towards PO69 (fingers crossed)

The levys have been fixed, they should not get backup from the lake like last time given the storms path

Fyi

I undertsand how the east/west of the eye wall thing works. My point was there is a chance for a serous swerve toward the west by Gustav (not out of the realm of possibilities) that would make Houston more vulnerable than New Orleans.

I naturally do not want to see either city take the worst of a cat 3 or 4 storm but given the choice I would rather see a more prepared and able to cope Houston take the hit than the still rebuilding and very vulnerable city of New Orleans get hit again with a Katrina like storm.

Only time will tell.

I moved to Miami in 1995 - Andrew was 1992 - but I've seen pics from friends - you could walk right into banks as the front doors and windows were gone - the highest we had since then was a 3 - and I had no power for 18 days - neighborhood is completely black at 8:00 pm - no stops lights - but the worst is no ac

I'm worried about the one right after this Hannah - I'm supposed to Italy on Saturday - also , I have a house with no insurance (the title is fucked up)

Yes, and you also want it to hit PO60 again - don't say otherwise - you also voted WVU top dueche - and said you must have accidently clicked it - go ahead and type it out will - say, like Seymour, I too hope Gustav gets lard ass PO69
