Has there ever been a more perfect bird?
(if you think so, who would that be)

My mind says Stan, my heart is with Ozzie and my teeth vote for Gibson!

All were fantastic ball players!

=)

Great question.

Stan is called "the man." Gibson was also a stud. Hornsby has awesome numbers but of course none of us saw him play. Albert might become the man but right now it is Stan and Bob 1 and 1a.

when pujols plays in 24 all star games and serves in a war in between playing then you can consider him. musial was a hell of a player and a class act.

I had the pleasure of riding for an hour and a half with a lifelong Cardinal fan the other day. He gave me the lowdown on the 1967 Cardinals. It was an historic team. This link shows their roster. McCarver went on to a announcing career, Curt Flood was involved in the MLB changing labor lawsuit and the team included seven or more Hall of Famers. I'm an Astros fan and had very little knowledge of this amazing collection of players on a single team. BTW, it also included Roger Maris!

Curt Flood was also a hell of a center fielder

Future manager Jimy Williams, Orlando Cepeda, Lou Brock, Steve Carlton, Bob Gibson, Curt Flood, Roger Maris, Tim McCarver. Are you kidding me? One of the guys went on to be the National League President. Was it Nelson Briles? I can't remember.

In a nutshell: If you had your choice of Musial at his peak or Pujols at his peak .... if he stays healthy Pujols will surpass all of 'The Man's' stats.

It is a question of "what is", not "what if".
List Musial Cardinal records, then list Pujols. Far, far to early in this young man's career. Stan is the Man! Not, Albert could be the man.

Mark David Mcguire..duh :dancefool

Loved Mac in the 90's as well, but ask yourself this, what would Bic Mac do against Gibby after dusting himself off from a little 97 mph chin music from the previous pitch.
