Don't count out the Rockies in the West

After a horrific start and a conga line to the disabled list, the Rocks are one of the hottest teams in baseball.

5.5 out with just a few weeks left would seem to be insurmountable, but NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND.

Colorado faces division leader Arizona 6 times before the end of the season. Three times at home and then a season ending series in Phoenix, where the Rockies fans may outnumber the horrible D-Back faithful if it is close.

Rockies play 14 of the next 17 games at home. They are a tough out at Coors Field and a quirk in the scheduling has them home for much of September.

Those other three road games are in Atlanta against the "we have completely folded up the tent for the season" Braves.

Not saying it's probable, but certainly possible.

With the right odds, I'd take that bet.

It is one of those "Whormoan-esque" bets, isn't it?

Might have to add that to the Rx dictionary of terms.

Whormoan-esque- adj. to completely and utterly obsess over USC, Pete Carroll, and/or Reggie Bush. (can also apply to the little gay mormon kid on American Idol)

We went there because they had alcohol. I'm pretty sure that was the deciding factor.

I think the Rockies have a far better shot than my Fish do at this point. Still a longshot, but they do have the schedule in their favor.
