Hey guys. I have read a few times over the years about a 'Pinny lean'.

Can someone please explain what this means. I understand that it refers to Pinnacle Sportsbook and their odds. Does it mean that they have very astute bookmakers who will offer lines that are different from all other sportsbooks in an attempt to get action on a certain side?... and that the opposite side is a profitable play over the long haul?

Thanks.

At one time when Pinnacle was clearly the world's top sportsbook, the "Pinny lean" was something to pay attention to but that went out the window in January of 2007 when they got out of the gambling business by bending over for the US government and stopped taking action from US customers. They're nothing but a small time operation now. I know at least two local bookmakers here in Las Vegas that write more action in both plays and dollar volume in one day than Pinnacle does.

While the lean isn't what it used to be, it's still pretty good. From what I could see there was a marked drop off start early this year (maybe March). Up until that time they had the sharpest lines out there.
