Has a team ever done that? I know Johnny Van Der Meer did personally. But I don't think I ever heard of a team doing it.

WOW... What a catch by Edmonds!!!!

If Ted gets this done it really diminishes what Big Z did last night. It makes Houston look terrible instead of the Cubs looking great IMO.

A lot of hard hit balls today though. Unlike Z who completely dominated.

If he does it, which I still doubt, this would be the most surprising accomplishment in the history of baseball. No hitter is one of the hardest baseball accomplishments. It took the Cubs 36 years to get one. To have two different pitchers do it B2B is really inconceivable. Not sure what to compare it to. Am I right to assume this has never happened?

Wouldn't be the most surprising accomplishment in baseball history at all. 100's of things have happened that are crazier, but it'd be impressive. That should be a hit BTW.

No Hitters are more common than a lot of things in baseball.

ERROR? You've got to be kidding me. That's a hit, and a terrible job by the scorer.

What is less common aside from a perfect game?

There have been 281 no hitters in MLB.

Things I can list off the top of my head.

There have been fewer cycles, triple plays, unassisted triple plays, three home run games, 4 home run games, 20 strike out games, 19 strike out games and the list goes on. While it is an incredible feat it isn't as rare as you'd think.

Harry has some as well. There are a lot of things in baseball that happen less often.

Back to back to back to back HRs. Unassisted triple plays. Off the top of my head...

Assuming that is true (not so sure), have those ever happened in consecutive games? I would also argue that the correct test would be B2B2B HR's in consecutive innings, not games. And for unassisted TP's consecutive innings, not games. There is a chance for the HR's/TP's in every inning, but there is only one chance per game for a no-hitter.

OK, and have those things ever happened in consecutive games for a team/player?

256 no hitters in baseball history so it's slightly less common than the cycle.

No they haven't, but first of all he didn't get it done and second of all no hitters aren't as rare as many feats in baseball.

The Rockies last year coming back was more amazing. The Oakland A's 23 game win streak, the White Sox finishing the season 16-1 and going 11-1 in the playoffs, Gagne's 50 straight+ saves without blowing one has only happened once. Ted Williams hit streak. Saying things that happen only once are rare is obvious but that doesn't make them the most amazing thing. They tend to be freak things. The point is that a no hitter isn't as rare as you'd think.
