1. Someone who posts too much about their favorite team

2. Someone who likes their hometown team

3. A derisive term to call someone when you are jealous that
their team is good

4. Combo of 1-3

Something else?

[ I'm obviously not referring to what it's called when a ball gets batted over the fence ]

A homer is one who likes their favorite team so much that they are blinded by the actuality of their team but make their flawed opinion well-known to everyone. IMO.

Ok. So, in other words, they're blinded to the point of not being
able to discuss their team objectively. I can see that...

Kind of like when Dsethi was getting on my case for getting
angry at the refs during the Celtics/Lakers NBA finals.

I must admit I did post some homer-ish comments under
that definition.

The meaning of "homer" is to describe someone who has a close devotion to a sports home team. They are called a "homer" because they are part of a "home crowd."
