Respect your posts and often play them. Just wanted to throw this in as I watched Houston's last two games vs. the Cubs. Astros, definitely seemed pre-occupied with what was going on in their home town and came up with one hit in 18 innings. Now, they travel to Florida and are pretty much out of hope for the wildcard. Have also watched Ozwalt's last three starts and two say the least he is almost flawless ... zero runs in 26 innings. Best pitcher in baseball at this moment ... bol.

i strictly follow the numbers and "my system". out of all the games today, this was the only value i found.

i guess the flipside is that oswalt's mind is also probably elsewhere (which it wasn't in his last 3 starts). 2 of those starts were against the pirates and rockies who are terrible. the 3rd was against the cubs (who along with the other 2 are all below average 1st inning run producing teams).

also, the astros did allow 1st inning runs in both of those recent (in milwaukee) losses to the cubs.

it's all just throwing darts anyway.

Correct, but they have to climb over the Phillies, Brewers and or the Mets to get to the wildcard. Ozwalt, can't pitch everyday. They had a very nice run but not getting those games at 'home' with the Cubs really hurt.

i keep all the 1st inning stats myself. i normally use yahoo sports for the pitcher vs. batter stuff.

thanks for the support boys. it's been a real tennis match the last few days. back and forth.
