OT: A message from Bill

Guys, I have read a few posts about how some of you are bailing out here because of this DDoS problem, I know it's frustrating, but the problem seems to be getting less and less severe, and it seems to me the techies are close to permanantly resolving this problem.

It's obvious this is a vindictive attack, and it seems to me the reason we are getting attacked is to drive away business here.

If you leave, they win.

Ride this out, as a message board administrator elsewhere, and a message board veteran, I can safely say 99 percent of the similar type boards out there does not compare.

Ride this out.

Never say never, trust me, like I alluded to earlier, I help run a sports message board (if you poke around you can figure out which one), 5 years ago, we were thriving, 18 months ago we got killed from porn spam attacks.
Because of laxed registration rules, we were crippled, and to this date have never recovered.
The site is a mere shell of itself.

Whether or not veteran posters leave this place is really irrelevant, I think. The true damage was done when every newbie looking for a place to bet or a tip during the first football weekend couldn't access this place properly and thus went elsewhere. I'd venture to guess that the veterans here aren't the ones the Rx is worried about depositing into their sponsors' books.

Anyway, glad this place is up and running again normally somewhat...knock on wood.

ya this is the biggest(financial) problem for sure..........say just 1000 read the coll foots and saturday i guarantee 10 or more of those will click on a banner to bet.....referral rx..........that is where it is hurting......guys like us will always come back here
