Stock Trader help needed..

I think wat i want is ur opinon on wat this company is doing...I missed it when the stock topped out in January at $80 sumthin and now its down to $60 , not in the last few days but a steady decline since the 1st of the year...1 question that have is how a stock drops when the company has record profits the last 3 quarters and pays a huge dividend as well? Is that y the price has dropped so much because of the dividend payments?

And now my biggest question, the last 4 days of last week the company bought back over half a million shares each of the 4 days..........Is this a warning to run or a good sign?

I would rather get opinons on what these signs mean generally regardless of the company but if u really need to know jus ask........thxxxxxxxxxx

hopefully the mods will let this stay a lil while before moving. i know its OT but the fin forum is kinda dead on weekends and i want to move on this 1st thing monday if i need to..thxx

Usually this is a good sign as companies want to own their stock when they believe it is undervalued.

I suspect the stock you're talking about is VISA (V).

If you're patient enough Visa will make you millions if you can invest a few hundred K now. A friend of mine did it when it came out and sold at 85. He couldn't of been happier. I was waiting on this as MA when it came out is still smoking...

Thx guys for the help.
im worried mainly because my family has the entire portfolio in this 1 stock . I know thats not good but i dont control it. Ive been watching it drop while at the same time we've gotten HUGE dividend checks the last 3 quarters..Then when i saw the buy backs going on Friday i was scared shitless that something was on the horizon that might be bad news.

Its not Visa, its Royal Dutch Shell..

Louisiana has the 50th ranked schools in everything and i come from the worst of them. They dont teach silent letters in words here cus its hard enough to teach 9th graders to put a sentance together as it is...sorry
