no, no, yes, don't know

basically you bet $x per point that you cover or don't cover. So, if you bet $10 per point and you bet a -10 that wins by 28, you win $180, or, if they lose by 28, you lose $380. There may be caps on the win/loss amount, but I think it depends on the book and wager.

Artie Lange apparently once action pointed the over of an NBA playoff game between NYK and Indiana and it was the lowest scoring playoff game in history, lost by like 50 or 60 points.

I have. You bet basically so much a point.

Say fav is -1.5 points, and you like the fav.

You might bet $100 a point ( risking $110 per) for each point the spread is covered or not covered by, say up to 20 points ( or another "cap").

$100 a point, capped at 20, is a max bet of 2200 to win 2000, so 2200 is needed to bet it, and restricted from your account until settled.

Greek has it, call in only.

I myself Love playing Action Points, but in Baskets Only.

That's just me.

This Bet is determined on how many points the Team Covers or Doesn't cover.

You also need your account set up to play this type of Bet. They will give you a MAX.

Let's look at a Football game for Tomorrow. Washington Redskins -3
and you think the Redskins will win by 10 More points. ( 13 )
For every Point Over the 3, you will Win $100 ( Based on $100 Play )

So if the Redskins win by 13, You win $1300 !!

Sounds Easy ? Right !

Well, Let's say the Redskins Get's Blown out by AZ. And they Lose by 20

Guess what, You Lost $2300 or Up to your Max

I like it for NBA overs. Say total is 191.... you can't see it going under 185, but could see 210.... OT counts, too... never play under with NBA AP's.

NBA dogs are pretty good too... you like a 10 point dog, can't see them losing by more than 13, maybe even win outright... nice AP spot.

Actually the risk is capped at whatever you want it to be capped at. You can choose a lower point cap or a lower bet amount per point in order to reduce your risk to whatever level you prefer.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Action points used to be far more commonly offered, but it’s one of the things that presumably books got beat up on by the few sharps who crunched all the numbers and found the subset of games where the player has the edge.

5 Dimes offered it in the past. Not any more.

The CRIS family of books offered it in the past. Not any more.

WWTS offered it in the past. Not any more since they were taken over by Bowmans (and they might have even dropped it before then, I don’t recall for sure).

There were others who offered it and have since discontinued it, but I don’t remember them all.

I know of only two books who offer this wager type any more. WSEX offers it, but in a very, very restricted way. Only NFL, only full game sides, and no cap greater than 10 points.

The other is Greek. Phone only. You can bet football or basketball, college or pro, full game sides or totals, with whatever cap you want. (Note: They told me that the way they grade action points wagers on college football totals, overtime does not count. So there’s no point in betting a big action points Over and rooting for one of those overtimes where the teams match each other multiple times in a row and the score skyrockets at the end.)

5D took them online at -115, but quit. Greek may still take them at -110, subject to supervisor OK. WSEX may still take them on NFL sides. Some locals may take them.

20 is about the max you should request, 30 is pushing things.
