Was listening to JIM ROME interview Conrad Cobler yesterday and heard a GOOD story about him:

http://www2.tbo.com/content/2010/jan/31/sp-doblers-dilemma-t/sports-bucs/

He didn't make a lot of money playing football - the year of his third Pro Bowl, Dobler made $40,000 - and Joy's need for constant care combined with his debilitating pain has drained the Doblers of their money. He runs a business that provides outsourced medical staffing, but it's in trouble. The economy, you know.
Some people have stepped up to help. Golfer Phil Mickelson saw a story on TV about Dobler and got in touch right away. He paid for Dobler's two kids to go to college.
"As the old saying goes, pride is hard to swallow but it will go down," Dobler said. "I've been the one visiting hospitals and donating money. If someone needed a thousand dollars, I gave it to them. Then when Phil Mickelson helped me out, just saying 'Thank you' didn't seem like enough."

Man, I can't believe the negativity towards this guy. Tell me honestly, what terrible thing has Mickelson really done to make you feel this way besides his being one of the top 5 most successful players on the PGA Tour?

He definitely has a negative perception about him.

But from what I read, he is very generous with his money.

I never used to like him because it didn't seem like he cared on the golf course. But he is just a laid back Southern California I guy and doesn't take life seriously. That is just his style and think that is how he plays best.

I am a fan of his now.

I used to love Tiger Woods and have begun to like him less and less. His whiney attitude on the golf course has gotten old.

What a worthless fuck. Anthony Kim is 10x the player he is.

I thing you are wrong. Check out Kim's stats compared to Mickelson's stats during the same time.

Do you know the history about Kim's caddie and the scum that he and Anthony hang around with? What about the Cheech and Chong concert in Atlanta in 2008, you know what happened there? It was during the Tour Championship.

Want to talk about a worthless fuck, Anthony Kim is that. Atleast he quit traveling with most of those guys, but the coke is still flowing.

For all of you Phil lovers please be aware that he's a stiff. He stiffed some offshore books for thousands of dollars a few years ago.

As far as Anthony Kim being better than Phil? NO. Not yet.

He has finished second 5 times in the US OPEN...maybe this is the year...

Maturity and family has made him a better person since the early years...

Definitely! He's unpredictable as hell, which makes him the most watchable player on the PGA Tour...It wouldn't surprise me if he took out the driver and starts taking a few chances on the back 9.

Good luck tomorrow Phil

The grind never stops. Phil Mickelson was sporting bandages on his left hand after spending so many hours on the tournament practice area that he developed cuts and callouses. Sandy Lyle hasn’t broken par since the final round in 2013, yet he worked up a lather on the range (in purple suspenders, no less!). Larry Mize dropped ball after ball on the 14thfairway, trying unsuccessfully to chase a fairway wood up onto the green. These aging warriors have little chance to contend this week – yes, sadly, even Phil – but that doesn’t keep them from trying.

he's 50. Kudos to the loss of weight, kudos to his addiction to getting better. Complacent he is not

At age 50 Phil is 57th on tour in driving distance, how incredible is that? The following players are below him; Day, Rose. Berger, Fleetwood, Spieth, Cantlay , Hatton, Morikawa

by numerous accounts Phil badly screwed over Billy Walters.
And then
Thanks to corrupt prosecutors Fat Phil was tapped on the wrist while Billy did time.
