After they beat OSU and everyone was saying how he out coached Tressel I didn't disagree but I said he wasn't as good of a coach because he doesn't get his boys up to play bad competition. It's embarrassing that they're even in this game.
Penn State destroyed this team and it was never in doubt. This game shouldn't be close.
I'd say he's a great recruiter but I think a lot of guys could recruit at that school right now. Great area to recruit and he's very charismatic. He's very good at getting his kids ready for the big games and has a very good game plan for them, but he's like a college kid himself and that's his flaw. He relaxes and thinks his kids talent will win the games against lesser competition and that's just not true. This is D-1 football.
They probably will come back and win this game but this is why he isn't as good of a head coach as Tressel no matter what anyone says. I'd take Jim as my coach any day of the week. Hell I'd take Bradley from Penn State. That school never loses to people they should beat and they win every bowl game. And if you're a Penn State follower you know that he is basically the head coach now.
Let me add that watching this game is making me optimistic. I hope that PSU can play USC somehow this year so that we can see if a Big Ten team can compete with them. The way that OSU is running the ball on them is making me optimistic because PSU runs the ball VERY WELL, and much better than OSU, and they have a running QB.
Watching this game has me thinking that at least one Big Ten team could play on the same field as USC. I think PSU's line and secondary can hold down USC and I think they can control the clock with the run.
Sorry to get off subject but just thinking about how they embarrassed the Big Ten. Just think OSU wasn't as good as many thought and that maybe the Big Ten's best team could hang with them. Probably won't happen. PSU also has to beat a real team as well.

Let me add that yes they could have beaten them by 100 but PSU doesn't like to run up the score on people because Joe Pa is old school and thinks it will come back to haunt him because then little teams will want to beat them that much more. Something Carrol needs to learn as well; IMO.
