No one with a shred of integrity sits on an almost settle up figure. You get close, the week ends and if you are anywhere over 50% of your settle stuck you offer to settle and let the man make the call.

Also, if a bookie knows you're not a stiff, he'd rather have you log in and see a negative balance. Bettors have more confidence and are less likely to chase if they have money in their account. How many bookies would want you to settle at 50% of your figure? Can't see why any of them would.

Why have a settle figure? When I'm up 50%+ I don't expect to get paid from anyone. In fact, in all my years, nobody has ever offered to settle, and I've played with them all.

Exactly. If you're sitting negative and don't make any bets for a couple weeks, then obviously you offer to settle.

If the bookie's definition of integrity is that you never sit with a negative balance, then he should just settle up every week and not have a settle figure. That means when he owes the player $400, he pays that $400. No player or bookie wants to play that way. Too much back and forth.

settle up should be on demand. when you want your money ask for it and I'll do the same. Fuck little nit shits that dodge a figure or play to a figure.

People that use settle up figures that way don't deserve the luxery of having one.

If you don't like it put you money up at the window then you can collect after the game if you like.

People that have credit should realize they are playing with the bookies money and they are fortunate to be able to do this.
