Blackburn on 5 days rest is the better bet +137 at BetJam than Danks on 3 days rest.

forget starting pitchers. put more stock in emotions an the way the sox have been playing these last 2 days, mainly the way they've been pitching, this team has a chip on it's shoulder.

and by the way, every sox hitter and ozzie guillen, after facing blackburn last week in minny, said he didn't pitch well at all. they just let him off the hook and didn't pound him like they should have.

i cant believe gardenhire is ok with blackburn in this game. liriano should be going on 3 days rest.

im a die hard sox fan but after they showed 0 heart in minny last week i just can't bear cheer for a team that doesn't want it. but then i saw the games sunday and yesterday, and this is the team ive been cheering for all year. the heart is back.

Danks is going on three days rest, but don't be fooled into thinking he had some taxing 125 pitch outing (like CC Sabathia). Danks got shelled, throwing only 80 pitches and was out of the game after four innings.

Just something to consider when taking into consideration this "three days rest" nonsense.

it seems to me all these guys can pitch on 3 days rest. 25 years ago they threw 125+ pitches a game. the horses went 150.

danks will have so much adrenaline pumping through him today, the extra day won't matter.

Exactly.

This "three days rest" nonsense is kind of silly.

If Danks struggles, it won't be because his arm is tired IMO, it will be because he's not used to starting on three days rest and thus his preparation/routine is all effed up.

Blackburn has not won a road game in almost 2 months and won just 3 of 18 road starts all year. Momentum and home field carry the Sox.Look for that bats to be hot tonight.

Also something to note

Blackburn:
Pre-ASB: 7-5, 3.65 ERA
Post-ASB: 4-5, 4.98 ERA

Danks:
Pre-ASB: 7-4, 2.67 ERA
Post-ASB: 4-5, 4.73 ERA

These are two young pitchers who have thrown 30+ innings more this year than they have at any other level and their pre/post all-star break splits show this.

<HR style="COLOR: #5c7c8c" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I guess these are the two guys that will start, but with one game on the line, the managers often make last minute changes. If this info is not correct, please correct it for the betterment of everyone.
Blackburn vs Chicago WS in 2008
In 5 outings he won 2 (4-3) and (5-2) and lost (4-7) (1-7) and (6-10), pitched 27 innings, gave up37 hits, 18 runs, 4 HRs, 9 BBs and 12 SOs
He is starting on 5 days rest.

Danks vs Minnesota in 2008
In 4 outings he won 2 (7-5) and (6-2) and lost (6-10) and (5-12), pitched 19.1 innings, gave up 29 hits, 18 runs, 1 HR, 10 BBs and 16 SOs.
He is starting on 3 days rest.

With all the tension and stress that has taken place in this past week for these two teams, I have to go with the 5 days rest at +135.
None the less, these guys give up the runs, and the bull pens have been spotty at times, so I do think the game will go over the projected total of 9.
What are some of your thoughts?
Blackburn is 26 years old, 6'4" and 227 pounds.
Danks is 23 years old, 6'1" and 200 pounds.
