This man is a good defensive coordinator, a man who can manage personalities with his turtle like demeanor however when it comes to game time decisions and strategic game plans the guy is a moran

I understand Romo audibled out of the run quite a bit, however 8 total run plays for barber & jones is just inexcusable.

I'm not a Cowboys fan but I feel sorry for Cowboy fans & players you have to waste away years of potential with this shmo at the helm

Let me get this straight.
Coach takes over the team and goes 13-3 his first year. He's 3-1 this year and he's a "shmo at the helm."

Uhhhhhh-sounds like someone had the Cowboys bet for a lot????

Actually my angst towards Phillips comes from his days back in Denver, where he brought uninspiring demeanor and weak game plans. This has continued to the Bills where he took on a talented team and underachieved and now on to Dallas.

Jerry Jones hired Phillips not for his strategic mind rather a personality that was smaller than the big name players. Philosophy of: Be a turtle dont try to manage, and hope the players talent will guide themselves to a victory. Not a bad strategy (applaude to Jones) for any team with TO, we saw the head butting of TO/Parcells.

As for Phillips, his track record shows it and he is unable to coach to a playoff victory. The few times he made bold decisions they were awful... benching Flutie for Rob Johnson?! Over his career I've never heard aplayer speak highly of his coaching style or refer to him as an intelligent football mind. The man is dull, uninspired, and lacks creativity.

The guy is a defensive coordinator and a good one. As far as a head coach, I'll take Schottenheimer over Phillips any day

There is a saying that goes something like this
"A fool is a person who keeps doing exactly the same thing and expects different results"
How can you not try an option play or anything different after 7 rushes at the center of the line couldn't get them a few yards for a TD?

The Cowboys have a top three running back in the game and one of the most dynamic back-ups in the NFL as well.

The fact that these guys touched the ball under ten times combined is a joke.

The Redskins won the game, but don't you dare think the ineptitude of Wade Phillips didn't help them.

Wade could probably have tried Jones to add a running game--I won't argue that. But Barber was shut down by the Skins. Seven of his eight runs were for a total of 11 yards. I certainly wouldn't have given him the ball much more during that game.

Wade has very little input into offense. That being said the defense has been weak all preseason and so far in the regular season and the defense is his baby.

I guess these threads will have to stop after Phillips leads the Cowboys to a Super Bowl this year...

The bigger problem is Jerry Jones putting his hands into the coaching aspect. This is why they haven't won a playoff game in 12 years.

They had two great coaches, but Jones ran them off.

agreed, always thought that he is not tough enough and too slow and laid back to be an nfl coach, imo.

I figure theyre not going to stop any time soon, as the Boys are probably going to miss the playoffs with all that talent!?!

wade is going to be looking for a coordinator role soon (and i wouldnnt be surprised if he's out of the league for a while :nono5:)

Puppet Man

Boy, you have got that right. There is no way a coach like Bill Cower comes in there and takes over with Jones at the helm. Parcell's didn't put up with it and he left. Couldn't put up with Jones wanting to be the coach and running down to the sidelines from his box to try and coach.:103631605
