Liking the Angels here, tough to bet on them with my crew in the other dug out but I need a bet to get myself back on track - I'm getting crushed.

I think Santana -130 at home with a team behind him that won 100 games and have their playoff life basicly on the line has a fair amount of value.

I've been on the favorites this post season, and am getting crushed for it.

Tomorrow I see LAA getting to Dice-K alot quicker than they did to Lester, forcing the Sox pen to try to take the game over - most likely trailing by several runs.

As for the total, I'd lean over but with those two on the mound, I could see a low scoring battle too.

Any ideas here?

I am biased, but I think the Halos are toast. At the end of game 1, their demeanor even looked like they are starting to believe the hype that they cannot beat the Sox in the playoffs. Dice-K is better than Santana. I think that the Angels are getting swept, but if they don't, it may sound crazy but I think they have a better chance of beating Beckett in Game 3. They have been a better road team all season long, and Beckett is clearly still not 100 percent, after a poor last outing and getting pushed back in the rotation.
Most people give too much credit for teams with the best regular season record, because a lot of the time (with the exception of the Yankees last decade, who were the best in the regular season and post-season) they just don't know how to win in the playoffs. That is why the Cubs ship is sinking, and the Sox were able to beat Lackey and the Angels after getting dominated in the regular season.

USHER ie: Ervin Santana should've started game 1. Angels will get back on track here. No reason to panic, they will win this series. Basically, a complete meltdown during game 1, no excuses, but they will get back to business tomorrow. and to midman, you have know idea what you are talking about, usher and saunders are our both all stars and i'm not buying that dice-k and beckett are that special, angels will make em look silly, angels win tommorow. bol though

you have to take pitches to walk. being 25th in the league this year in walks, it may be tough for the halos to all of a sudden, " have patience".
just a thought

I threw this stat out there the other day, but the Angels saw the least amount of pitchers per at bat in the Majors this year. That figure got even worse (albeit by .004 pitches) since the acquisition of Teixeira.

In my opinion, that plays right into the hand of Daisuke.

I'm leaning towards the Sox.

Boston looked like the superior team in game one...Hard to believe...Considering the way LAA handled them in the regular season

Boston looked like they picked up from Game 4 of 2007 World Series, I a huge Sox fan am usually bias towards them, but even I bet on the Angels in game 1 :ohno:

After seeing the machine come to life, the Angels are hooped...

I"m on Boston and the + money. I just don't have much faith in Santana and the Angels batters like I do with DiceK and Boston's playoff tested lineup. Simply as that.

This series is over. It's a sweep for the Red Sox. The Angels are a good team but not a World Series caliber team. Not even close. Their lineup after the the number five hitter is pathetic. When you've got Howie Kendrick as your number six hitter in an American League lineup, you're scraping the bucket.

The Angels padded their regular season record because they've got three Triple A teams in their division. Out of the eight teams in the playoffs, the Angels aren't even in the top five teams.

If the Angels are going to have any chance of dethroning the defending World Champs at all, Vladimir Guerrero has got to get the fucking lead out of his ass and start coming through at the plate in clutch situations. Seems it's the same thing each postseason with this guy. If he doesn't pick it up today, the Angels will indeed be near toast and he'll be wearing the 'choke' label across his back. It doesn't mean squat what he does year in and year out in the regular season and I'm quite certain the Angel supporters and management feel the same way. What have you done for me lately in the postseason is the question Vladimir?

The Angels are the best team in baseball my friend. And in case you didn't notice they dominated the first game until a Lackey meatball in the 6th inning and the wheels fell off with HGH going 0 for 3 and playing right field like a little leaguer. He's gotten benched and Juan Rivera will take his place tonight. You arrogant Red Sux fans who just think your entitled to win everything cause your on the east coast and your elitist leftists need to not get over confident here. It's ONe Game!!!!!!!!!!! Usher will win this game tonight, Dice-K will have the bases loaded a couple of times and there will be doubles and homers for the halos tonight. And another thing, you don't know baseball if you think Howie Kendrick is a fraud, he's the best pure young hitter in baseball, period. So in conclusion, pleas go on the Red Sux tonight so the line will be more advantaguous for me. Best of Luck though with the Sox and Obama!!! :dancefool%^_:dancefool

Red Sox 11-2 on the road when Dice K starts with one of the losses he got hurt and the other the bullpen blew a 3 run lead for him. Red Sox 10-0 their last 10 postseason games and Santana 1-2 with a 5.33 era his 4 starts. All those stats going towards Boston getting +125 is too hard to pass up.

When the Angels won the Series in 2002, they lost both game 1s on their way to the world series....you are extremely foolish if you think this series is over. The Angels will win the World Series this year...one game doesn't mean shit!
