Dude can light it up when he's on

Would rather have the kid who can carry you than Kuroda

Big game for a young pitcher. Plus Cubs lineup is righty heavy.
Not sure I agree with the decision....but those are the reasons.

Big game or not i rather go with the young stud who can light it up than the "ok" veteran (also a rookie)

Kuroda can be very good also. He's an underrated pitcher. Kershaw should go game 4 if they lose tomorrow. The one thing I love about the Dodgers pitching is that even thought they don't have top tier stud pitchers, they are very deep and have at least 4 or 5 pitchers that you can feel comfortable sending out there in the playoffs.

You can't consider him a rookie really, and the bigger point is that Chic is a right handed heavy lineup, and much better vs LHP.

Kuroda has been very reliable this season even though (W-L) record doesn't indicate so. He pitched a gem earlier this season against the Cubbies when they were confident and playing the best ball in the game and has been a workhorse, the decision by Torre is a good one. Now the Cubbies are playing the worst ball in the game down at the bottom with Mariners and Padres. This is a perfect fit and if they do lose for some reason they can run Clayton out for Game #4. It is really a toss up as Torre couldn't make a wrong choice but believe once again he is playing the right card, he always seems to make the right decisions and maintains harmony within all the teams he has skippered.

Kershaw will not start game 4.

The Dodgers are being careful with Kershaw this year. He was on a 170 innning pitch count for the season (inlcuding minor league innings). He is about right at that number now. He could be the next Steve Carlton. Yes. He is that good.

Since Kuo is unavailable for the series, Torre wanted another left hander in the pen. That is where he will be for this series and likely for the playoffs.

Maddux will pitch game 4 if it is not Lowe.

Kuroda is a solid pitcher. He is death against right handed batters. He pitched a shutout against the Cubs earlier this season. The only question mark with Kuroda is whether he has a tired arm.
