Bring some excitement to the NHL this season with this 300$ post up contest sponsored by BetJamaica.

It’s easy! Just make a minimum of 220 Money line (ML) or Total plays (max 4 plays per day) throughout the NHL regular season, sit back, watch the games, and WIN!

BetJamaica will be adding 20% cash bonus to the prize pool as a sweetener for the contest.

How it Works:

• Make a minimum of 220 Money Line (ML) or Total plays (max 4 plays per day) throughout the NHL regular season. (There is no maximum number of plays). ***You must make at least 20 selections between march 26th and April 12th***

• Post your selections in the “Picks Thread” exactly as instructed. Players will all be using same set of lines. There will be detailed instructions on exactly how to post plays in the daily picks thread.

• Plays will be graded based on a win amount of 100 when selecting favourites and a risk amount of 100 when selecting underdogs.

If you notice someone posting an incorrect line, please post in the daily picks thread.

** Ruling For Posting Bad Lines:

Rules For Posting Plays.

POSTING RULES: (these rules will be posted in the daily picks thread every day)

-We are using "Live Lines" Please click HERE to get the daily Betjam NHL lines.**

** You must post the current line at the time of your post. You may not use an earlier line, and you cannot use a different line after you have posted your selection. This rule is based on the ‘honor’ system and will be monitored by the contest moderator and fellow contestants. If you feel that a fellow contestant has posted an incorrect line please post such in the daily picks thread. Even if it is an honest mistakes, there will be consequeces for posting bad lines as noted bellow

** Ruling For Posting Bad Lines:

If a play is posted with lines that favor the poster with respect to the actual BetJamaica line, the play will be graded according to the outcome of the game.
  • If the result of the play would have been a win, it will be graded NO ACTION.
  • If the result would have been a loss, the play will be graded a loss, but using the corrected line at time of post.

-You must post your plays 5 minutes before the start of the first game within your set of games. We use Betjamaica start times as official times. (strictly enforced).

-You MAY use the 5 minute RX.com edit feature to EDIT any typos, incorrect rotation numbers etc. If you fail to edit an error within that 5 minute window, and the error winds up posted, it CANNOT be changed or corrected. Even if you contact a modertor.

-Each play must include three components:
a) the rotation number
b) bet (ML or Total)
c) JUICE (-110, -130) etc.

-You may only post 1 play per line.

-Plays must be posted in order of rotation.

EXAMPLE OF HOW TO POST PLAYS:

1 TORONTO +250
5 CALGARY +115
5 CALGARY UNDER 5 -130
7 SAN JOSE -130

(notice how the plays include three elements, one play per line, and in order of rotation, please also note that rules are strictly enforced, if you are 1 minute late, you are NO ACTION for any relevent games, if you miss a rotation number NO ACTION, if your play is unclear EX: you wrote COL and the moderator doesnt know if you mean Columbus or Colorado, the play is NO ACTION. Do not use symbols such as > or < for over unders. Dont make mistakes and there will be nothing to complain about.

And I offer friendly suggestion that the contest be conducted within a CONTEST forum thread, rather than within the NHL forum. Helps to assure non-contestants don't poke in with distracting comments.

1) the price is $300

2) the benefits are too many to name, but one of the main ones is that Betjamaica is adding 20% to the prize pool, making this contest an overlay. Another benefit is that the contest is alot of fun. Another benefit is that by joining, you are supporting the RX and their sponsors.

3) The prizes are dependent on the number of entries, for example lets say we get 20 people.

20 people X $360 = $7200.

So if we have 20 people, they will be playing for $7200 in prizes, probably divided amont the top 3 posters.

By far the biggest benefit of participating in an Rx/Betjam season long contest is that it provides stronger motivation to more thoroughly learn the particular sport and how to wager it for profit.

I have always had a fair eye for NHL, but consider last season's contest experience the most enlightening five months in my my almost ten years of sports handicapping education.

Just a suggestion.
Any chance we can move the start date up 2 weeks to November 4. Teams will have played 18 games already by the contest start date which is 20% of the regular season.
This still gives everyone exactly one month to deposit.

Followup on Puckhandler's suggestion...

Let's set it at Nov 7 (which is 14 days prior); but if we don't have an agreeable number or contestants we allow for one or two bumps on Nov 14, 21 until we reach the agreeable number.

(not sure what that number is.....20?.....We have 14 in the Fantasy league alone, plus a few others, eh?)

Plus I'm going to be doing some promotional work by hitting up all the NHL-fan forums I can hit within the next 30 days. Will create a thread to that regard shortly wherein we can each post venues where we've Posted news of the contest and how to get to the Rx and Betjam.

Would really be cool if we could get 25 and pay out five or six winners.

For those wondering about potential integrity issues with Contestants using "current Betjam lines" when posting their contest selections, I can state with confidence that on only a couple of occasions during the entire five months of MLB contest did anyone express a specific complaint and in both cases it was handled professionally and the contestants involved did not to anyone's knowledge repeat their single erroneous pricing.

Thanks to the RxLiveLines service, it's fairly easy for contest moderators to verify prices if anyone throws the Red Challenge Flag onto the contest thread.
