Disclaimer:
This is just an idea for the Boston/Tampa Series, nothing I suggest, just bringing up an idea that we can toss around and discuss the pros/cons.

So...

Series is at Boston -130/ Tampa +110
Game 1 is at Boston +100/Tampa -110

So if you bet...
Tampa Series +110 and Boston Game 1 +100

The risk.... Boston could easily lose game 1, but sweep the next 4 with beckett in game 2 and 3 at home, which would result in 2 lost bets

Say you place $100 on: Tampa Series +110 and Boston Game 1 +100
-If Boston wins game 1, you are free rolling a Tampa series bet
-If Tampa wins game 1, youve lost $100 but Tampa sits 1-0 in series with a +110 series bet

So what do you project the lines to be in Game 2 if Tampa Wins Game 1?
Would beckett be + money on the road with the Sox back against the wall?

Just an idea to stir some conversation.
Id like to hear some ideas and personal strategies

If Beckett is facing Kazmir he should be at least a +120 dog, but he might be a favorite based on his name. I'd rather have Kazmir on the mound though and Tampa was the best home team in baseball this year.

As for the strategy I think it would work better in a 5 game series. All the teams that took game 1 won in the first round (also because they all took game 2 as well), but in a 7 game series the first game isn't as important.

I agree completely, the strategy might work better in a 5gamer. 3 in a row at fenway is just scary.

I always felt there is more presure on the team with the better record. they are in a really tough spot if they drop 1 of the first two (god forbid both) at home and have to head into a hostel environment where the opposing fans understand they have the ability to clinch on their home field. scary scene. the Rockies were on the good end of that scene last year in teh NLDS and NLCS
