I am on a mission to find some old dance/club mixe cd's from the old school alternative time. I loved the tunes from the late 80's early 90's. Acid house, hard core alternative (Nitzer-Ebb, Ministry, Front 242) and then the lighter Depeche Mode, Simple Minds, Echo, New Order, Smiths etc.. I think the dance tunes from this time will never be surpassed.

I have about a half dozen tapes of old club songs from this time. the tape I have have on now is My Bloody Valentine, Skinny Puppy, Xmox, Eon, and a killer mix of The The and Love and Rockets. I think anyone who likes the era knows what I am talking about.

Ok to the point--anyone have some names of good Club Mixes from this time you could refer? I am ordering the "Just Say Dah" collection. If anyone knows of some current club mixes from current school that would match this genre let me know.

I graduated in 90. The alternative club songs from this time were awesome. I must have 200+ cd's from this time period alone. I would love to hear who had some club tapes. I have around a dozen tapes from clubs in Tallahassee, Orlando, Daytona, and some radio stuff.

So I'm at that KROQ site (great link FW) while watching MNF and game goes to commercial... so I look back to pc and hit PageDown and first song at top of screen is "Saved By Zero" . At that exact moment Toyota ad comes on song in the ad is also SavedByzero by the Fixx. Love when that happens! heeheeehee.

Great lists. I've always said that '83 and 84 were the craziest years for music ever. So much of the best and worst in rock and pop. On the good side stuff like New Order, Thomas Dolby's "Golden Age of Wireless, Echo's KillingMoon, TheFixx Reach the Beach", English Beat, PsychFurs and on the bad side Culture Club, Human League, Thompsontwins, kAJAgoogoo, Spandau Ballet yyyeeckkkkk. :puke1:

Spotted a couple of one hit wonder types like Make Circuit with Me Mexican Radio -- great stuff

I played at an alt rock/rock bar for years. These lists are great. Hope everyone liked them.

Throwing a little Peter Murphy/Bauhaus your way:

Where have all the guitar heroes gone?

Or should I say who are the present guitar heroes?

Wife just put in the Doors as she cleans, god bless her.

I used to watch Head Bangers Ball religiously on Saturday nights.

We made fun of GNR when they debuted "Welcome To The Jungle".

Axel looked like a chicken hawk............LOL
