First of all they left Beckett out there way too long in a winnable game 2.

Now they lose game 3.

Wakefield next, his junk can be off, way off on any given day.

If they lose the game the day after today, they are down 3-1, and come back with Beckett ?

I'd pitch Daisyduke down 3-1.

down 2-0 to yankees lost game 3 at home 19-8. that is toast. except they won 4 straight after that.

Rays are very good, but do not overreact.

Wakefield historically dominates the rays, still a long way to go in this series imo.

Virtually any statistic or trend related to "versus the Rays" prior to this past April is moot.

===

Side Note - Once you get past Pedroia, Youk and Bay this Boston lineup is fairly limp.

Fun Fact - Sox LH batters in the three ALCS games now a meager 6 for 66

Some fairly serious talk down here that if Rays can pull off Game 4 and take a 3-1 lead they will go with either Jackson or Kazmir in Game 5 since there's an OffDay Wednesday.

That leaves Shields & Garza for the final two games (if needed) at The Trop and/or to open the World Series.

What was the logic in leaving JB out there to burn in #2 ?

being a redsox fan, if they did lose game4 and were down 3-1 who really gives a crap who throws game 5....they gotta win 3 in a row no matter what and guess what they got 3 aces....it would be plain stupid to throw beckett on short rest...dont care how good dice K is on the road....would sacrifice the home/away records of 1 pitcher over starting someone on 3days rest...

tomorrow a big game for the sox, im sorta glad tb kept piling it on....maybe it will lite a fire under their asses and thats what they need right now...they know after today TB isnt going away without a fight...if sox tie it up could be the makings of a great series...

wow. red sox cannot win? I hope you people hammered Rays +180 today then. If not you are late to the red sox funeral. buy low, sell high?

If you are buying Rays now, you are buying high. Red Sox are pieces of crap?

Rays should be favored to win this series now, not by much, but kicking dirt on the Red Sox grave is very pre-mature. This could well be a 7 game classic either way.

Not a hammer job, but played the Rays to win American League at +6000 in early April

Got the +1.5 (-130) today

Will likely use the +137 (or better) moneyline Tuesday as the books rake in the RedSox bettors starting at -147 and rising.

I'd consider TB at an adjusted series line of -140, or better. I think it will be more like -160.

Wakefield good against Rays,....

Not particularly, if we can agree to throw out the previous years when Rays were a consistent 100loss team

Wakefield three starts this season vs TBay and final one from last September

0W 3L 5.40

20 IP
24 H
11 BB

ER 14
HR 4
WHIP 1.75
SB 8 for 9

There may well be reasoning to bet RedSox on Tuesday, but Wakefield's history versus this current Rays core is certainly not compelling

it is short term crap like that that got all the squares on Lester -800 or whatever it was today.

I cant say I like Boston -140 as a bet tomorrow, but thinking they are in deep trouble in this series is very premature.
