Great move for both sides, Lions don't have to stick a franchise tag on him next season and the Cowboys get an established WR who should put up decent numbers for the next 5-8 years if the stays healthy. Those are two big targets in Williams and T.O....Cowboys also probably avoid having to draft a WR on day one of next years draft(although I guess it could still be an option.)

Lions came out as huge winners. What is Dallas thinking?

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Cowboys have acquired Roy Williams from the Lions for a first, third, and sixth-round draft pick.

Now will the o-line give Romo/Johnson enough time so they can get him the ball?

cowboys will have some trouble with this move

too many weapons is a problem, yes a problem. roy will be out of sink 1st few weeks then again when romo gets back. t.o is gonna have a fit

cowboys have all sorts of things going on, t.o. romo. pacman newman williams now another williams and f.jones will battle the hammy all year. i think the cowboys problem is on def

i think they wld of been better off with a lower key target in someone like muhammed or stokely, not that they cld of got one of these guys but just meaning a player of this type
best of luck to cowboys on this move

lions got a steal in 1 3 6 pick

Lions have two first rounders, I say they draft two of them.

He was a tool in the Bears game. Lions will be better off here. We'll see how TO likes this in Big D. Nice to have Brad Johnson throwing the ball too.

Not sure if this trade improves Dallas at this point in time. More or less just keeps them a float.

Let the games begin. Jones seems to be running scared here, maybe he thinks his only shot at a ring is this year with Indy beat up on defense and Brady on crutches. With the rest of the division barking at his heels, he needs to win NOW, his window is probably only open for this year with all the drama that Team is packing!!

Get Your popcorn ready T.O.......this is gonna be interesting in Big D now with Roy & T.O's boy being out for 4 weeks.

We could be on the verge of T.O doing driveway situps again. Stay tuned.

Dallas had multiple picks to give up, doesn't hurt them

I think they had (or have) 9 picks next year.

Upon further reflection (ie listening to the Cowboys radio show), the Boys are basically giving up only a third for Roy. The #1 they sent would have been used on a WR next year anyways and the sixth is basically the same as the seventh they got back. In return they get a proven WR; one they don't have to wait on for 2 years to hopefully develop into a top receiver.
