I can't for the life of me understand what possessed Boston manager Terry Francona to start Tim Wakefield in what had to be the most crucial game for the Red Sox this year. The guy hadn't pitched in sixteen days and the fact still remains is that he's totally and completely washed up. Now to send him out to pitch against the Tampa Bay squad that has been so hot at the plate did nothing more than, besides basically giving them the crucial game four victory, pump up their batting strokes for game five on Thursday.
Even if Boston does bounce back and win game five at home, the Rays still have to win but one of the two remaining games at home to capture this series and I certainly wouldn't bet against them completing that statement. This defeat should be charge soley to Red Sox manager Terry Francona for his utterly pathetic decision to start a guy who has seen better days.
Listen the bottom line is quite simply that Daisuka Matsuzaka on three fucking days rest is or would have been a hell of a lot better than a forty-two year old washtub. You blew it Francona; you completely fucking blew it!!!!
