First week of April, Rays were +6000 for AL and +12000 for WS

Second week of May they had dropped to +4000 and +8000 and it just kept sliding down after that

heh...Kidding aside, Sternberg is in fact (and has been) building this team from a Wall Street mindset.

And I think a key component will be a commitment that no one player will tie up more than 5 to 8% of team payroll.

Team is certainly set up for the next three to four years with this core and if the Rays management takes advantage of this window to aggressively stock the minors with more arms, they could put on a run akin to the Atlanta Braves and steadily compete for 10-15 years.
