he could have at least dove to the side to either:

A. Make him hurdle or
B. Dive away but try to trip him

Definitely not deliberate. Looks like he didn't recognize the player coming towards him actually had the ball. Also was trying to avoid the tackler coming from behind him.

Apparently this ref played linebacker at Kentucky in the late 60's. No joke. Maybe he had some flashbacks or something...

If Im not mistaken, SC ended up scoring on that drive anyway. I could be wrong on that though.
