Rays HAVE to have this one as they don't want to go into next game down 3-1 with Hamels on the mound.

Sonnanstine is a very underrated pitcher who is very polished and relies on his command, savvy, location, and secondary stuff to win ball games. I think he has the advantage with the layoff.

Rays have been playing tough, and Philly had the major advantage last game with the weather. But getting into a slugfest with the Rays is not a good thing, and this game should shape up to have some runs scored.

Sonnanstine have very comparable numbers on the road compared to at home. He is 2-0 in these playoffs.

No major advantage at home for Blanton, who has 1 win this postseason.

Sonnanstine is just what the doctor ordered for the Rays right now to halt the Phillies offense - a savvy veteran that can keep the Phillies guessing and off balance.

Maddon will be in full attack mode tonight, and will pull out all of the stops to get this thing done and even back up. He will exhaust his bullpen if necessary. Must have for the Rays.

I believe savvy was more a reference to his pitches. Junk.

I certainly wasnt referring to his actual age.

Either way, this play looks to be a loss - or should be. Blanton pitched the game of his life, his curveball was very sharp and fell off the table, and the umpire's zone hasnt been consistent on the low ball for both teams. Having a hard time getting a read on the WS and will probably cut my losses and call it a series.
