Vegas has already called Philly the winner of game 5 regardless of the outcome of the rest of the game today. That is the proper call and actually the world series should now be over according to regular baseball rules. Selig is the worst thing to happen to baseball with all his silly changes.

That and the fact he lied about it which was evident by all his contradictions. Selig is a reflection of all these shitbag CEO's who have bankrupted their companies through lies and greed. Selig doesnt know his head from his ass yet he is a comissioner of a pro sports league.

one of the funniest or saddest things would be if you had philly big in series then hedged last night with TB.....and you can technically lose them both.......

Interesting thought because if in fact Las Vegas and Nevada rules clearly state that Philly won game 5, then should they also declare Philly the winner of the world series because now Philly has won 4 games ? Thanks Bud !

How should the world series be over???? The rule for sportsbooks as far as a bet goes it totally different than the MLB's rules for play. There is no rule in the MLB that if it goes 5 innings, the team that was winning the last full inning wins the game. Sportsbooks take advantage of people, if lasts nights game is considered a win then why is there still a prop bet for TB to come back in the series, and an open slot awaiting a line for game 6???

I think Selig made a great judgement call on adjusting the rule according to how the series is going. It's bad for gamblers, but he definitely came out in the right end of this by making sure there is a definitive conclusion.

Are Vegas books still offering a WS winner line?

Why should the World Series be over. I believe your wrong and I believe the Vegas rule is wrong. I complained in the passed this rule needs to be changed. The right thing to do is to refund or give the bettor the option to roll forward. I made my bet predicting who would win the game, I didn't factor in who will be leading after the last completed inning. Total bullshit and I'm fuc'en pissed.

We just checked with the Mirage, and they are not paying out on Phily yet, they are waiting for the game to be completed. They guys actually said 'we are waiting, even if it take a week to finish the game.'

Are you serious. Makes sense. If I wanted a 5 inning bet I would have bet the 5 inning line.

They better have rules printed saying the WS is different? if not, the gaming commission is going to have lots of complaints filed if Philly loses.

Yeah, I have the Phillies in the series. According to Vegas, Phillies have won four games. They have just as correctly won the series, according to Vegas, as they have Game 5. All Series bets should be graded.

Whats so pathetic. Wouldn't the fair rule in a unique situation be for the rule to mirror baseball rules. Mirage is being fair to bettors that made their bet on a prediction of who the official winner of game 5 was. There hasn't been an official winner yet, unless you bet the 5 inning line. I had T.B. to win game not the 5 inning line. This game should have been delayed before the start of the 5th inning anyways.

It's pathetic, because you have to follow the rules that are in place. Mirage is not doing that, so gaming commission is going to have to get involved.

Now this I disagree with. The rule is a bad rule and should be changed. However, it is clearly the rule and the books must follow their clear rules, even if baseball themselves had not.
